NHL Scratches & Line Changes

The Avalanche acquired Blankenburg from the Nashville Predators last Wednesday in exchange for a 2026 fifth-round draft pick. Blankenburg is a somewhat underrated, 27-year-old two-way defenceman who's put up career highs in goals (six) and assists (15) in just 49 games this season. He quarterbacked the Predators second power-play unit at times this season, but it's unclear where exactly he will slot in on the pecking order of an Avalanche blue-line that just recently swapped out Samuel Girard for Brett Kulak.

Helleson has not played in over a week and will make his return to the lineup on Thursday against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The 24-year-old defenseman is averaging 17:25 time-on-ice and has 12 points (2G / 10A) in 51 games this season.

Wiesblatt has been sidelined for a couple of games, but he will return to the lineup on Thursday against the Vancouver Canuks. The 24-year-old forward is averaging 10:16 time-on-ice and has five points (1G / 4A) in 33 games this season.

With Evander Kane returning from an illness, Hoglander will head to the sidelines as a healthy scratch. The 25-year-old Hoglander is averaging 11:32 time-on-ice and has three points (1G / 2A) in 25 games this season.

Alexander Steeves will draw back into Boston's lineup on Thursday against the San Jose Sharks, sending Eyssimont to the press box as a healthy scratch. The 29-year-old Eyssimont is averaging 10:53 time-on-ice and has 18 points (5G / 10A) in 50 games this season.

Dries is no stranger to the NHL, with 26 points (16G / 10A) in 122 career games, but he has exclusively played in the AHL the past three seasons. The undrafted 31-year-old forward has 37 points (20G / 17A) in 48 games with the Grand Rapids Griffins (AHL) this season.

Stastny has been sidelined for nearly 10 days, but he will re-enter the lineup on Thursday against the Dallas Stars. The 26-year-old defenseman is averaging 16:09 time-on-ice and has one goal in 31 games with the Oilers.

Henrique has not played in over a week, but is expected to re-enter the lineup on Thursday against the Dallas Stars. The 36-year-old Henrique is averaging 13:37 time-on-ice and has 10 points (2G / 8A) in 48 games this season.

Steeves has not played in Boston's previous two games, but he will return to the lineup on Thursday against the San Jose Sharks. The 26-year-old Steeves is averaging 12:02 time-on-ice and has 16 points (9G / 7A) in 39 games this season.

After just two games as a member of the Blues, Drouin will head to the sidelines as a healthy scratch. The 30-year-old Drouin is averaging 14:33 time-on-ice and has one goal in two games with St. Louis. Nathan Walker will enter the lineup as Drouin's replacement.

Newcomer Jonathan Drouin will be a healthy scratch for St. Louis on Thursday, allowing Walker to re-enter the lineup. The 32-year-old Walker has not played in over a week. He has 11 points (4G / 7A) in 40 games this season.

Voronkov has been sidelined for the last week, but will re-enter the lineup on Thursday against the Florida Panthers. The 25-year-old forward has 32 points (17G / 15A) in 61 games this season, but has zero points in his last seven games.

Despite the losses of Rasmus Andersson and MacKenzie Weegar via trades, the Flames continue to be conservative with Parekh, their exiting rookie defenseman, who will return to the sidelines on Thursday. The 20-year-old Parekh is averaging 15:46 time-on-ice and has two assists in 20 games this season. Hunter Brzustewicz will enter the lineup as Parekh's replacement.

Zayne Parekh will be a healthy scratch on Thursday against the New Jersey Devils, allowing Brzutewicz to re-enter the lineup. The 21-year-old Brzustewicz has not played a game for Calgary since late January. He has two points (1G / 1A) in 18 games.

Pezzetta was a full-time NHLer with the Montreal Canadiens for the previous three seasons, but has found himself in the AHL for the entire 2025-26 season so far. The 27-year-old forward has 10 points (4G / 6A) in 37 games with the Toronto Marlies (AHL) this season.

Panthers' Head Coach Paul Maurice continues to manage a team battling a myriad of injuries, with Balinskis coming out of the lineup on Thursday against the Columbus Blue Jackets. The 29-year-old Latvian defenseman is averaging 16:22 time-on-ice and has 15 points (5G / 10A) in 54 games this season.

Reinhardt has not played in over a week, but will draw back into Florida's lineup on Thursday as Head Coach Paul Maurice navigates workload maintenance for several banged-up players. The 26-year-old Reinhardt is averaging 9:47 time-on-ice and has seven points (3G / 4A) in 44 games this season.

With Timothy Liljegren drawing into Washington's lineup for his team debut on Wednesday against the Philadelphia Flyers, Chisholm will be sent to the press box as a healthy scratch. The 26-year-old Chisholm is averaging 13:44 time-on-ice and has seven points (1G / 6A) in 26 games this season.

Washington acquired Timothy Liljegren from San Jose for a 2026 4th round pick before the trade deadline and will make his Capitals debut on Wednesday against the Philadelphia Flyers. Liljegren was acquired mid-season by the San Jose Sharks in 2024-25, but his stay was short lived after being dealt to the Washington ahead of the 2025-26 deadline. The 26-year-old defenseman averaged 20:08 time-on-ice and scored 11 points (1G / 10A) in 43 games with San Jose this season.
