With Jones out week-to-week, moving him to IR was a formality to create a roster spot for Sandis Vilmanis to be recalled from the AHL.

Vilmanis was a fifth-round pick in 2022 and will make his NHL debut after 92 career AHL games with Charlotte. This year, he has eight goals and 11 assists (19 points) in 31 games. He'll suit up on the Panthers' fourth line with Luke Kunin and Jack Studnicka.

Bogosian is eligible to come off of IR whenever he is healthy, this move created a roster spot for Ben Jones to be recalled from Iowa (AHL) as insurance in case Joel Eriksson Ek can't play on Saturday.

Joel Eriksson Ek suffered an undisclosed injury on Thursday and is questionable to play Saturday. With Jones getting called up, it suggests that Eriksson Ek won't play and Jones will draw in as the No.4 centre.

Dowling appeared in two games during his call-up but was a healthy scratch vs. the Sabres on Thursday. His demotion suggests that Noah Laba will be back in the Rangers' lineup on Saturday.

With Spencer Knight and Arvid Soderblom both dealing with illnesses, Berezhnoy's call-up suggests that neither of them travelled to Nashville for Saturday's game. So look for either Berezhnoy to make his NHL debut or for Drew Commesso to start for a second night in a row.

Slavin has missed the last 10 games with an upper-body injury, but he's expected to suit up for his sixth game of the season on Saturday. Slavin will replace Joel Nystrom, who was assigned to Chicago (AHL) on Friday.

Konecny suffered an upper-body injury in Thursday's loss to the Maple Leafs and it will keep him out of the lineup on Saturday. Matvei Michkov will move up to the Flyers' top line to replace Konecny, who is considered day-to-day.

Stolarz has been out since November 11th, but is getting close to a return to the Maple Leafs crease. Joseph Woll and Dennis Hildeby have performed well in his absence, falling just 2.85 goals per game, the eighth-best mark in the NHL since November 12th.

McCabe has missed the last two games with a lower-body injury, but was back on the ice for Saturday's morning skate. He did not take part in line rushes, which suggests he won't play, but he's still considered a game-time decision.

Nylander will return after missing the last six games, replacing Calle Jarnkrok. Nylander will be back on the Maple Leafs' second line with John Tavares and Matias Maccelli and on PP2. Nylander returns after posting just nine points (3G / 6A) in 12 games in December.
