Knight will start in Washington on Friday.

For the fifth time in six games, the Blackhawks will turn to Knight between the pipes on Friday against the Washington Capitals. Kochetkov is in the starter's crease at Carolina's morning skate.

The Hurricanes have won three straight and will likely have Kochetkov tending the twine on Friday against the Detroit Red Wings. Kochetkov struggled in his most recent outing, allowing four goals on 31 shots (.871 SV%), but received ample goal support in a 6-4 win over the New York Islanders. The 25-year-old goalie has an ugly 4.75 GAA and .806 SV% in his last three games (1-2-0). Still, the Hurricanes enter Friday's contest as -186 road favorites against a Red Wings team desperately trying to stay within reach of the final Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference.

Pyotr Kochetkov
Rempe (upper-body) return to practice in a regular jersey on Friday.

Thompson was pulled after allowing three goals on 12 shots in the first period of Wednesday's game in Carolina. Charlie Lindgren replaced Thompson and will likely see an increase workload if Thompson is out of the lineup. The Capitals recalled Hunter Shepard from the Hershey Bears (AHL) in a corresponding move.

Logan Thompson
Knight is in the starter's crease at Chicago's morning skate.

For the fifth time in six games, the Blackhawks will likely turn to Knight between the pipes on Friday against the Washington Capitals. Knight was excellent in his most recent outing, saving 29 of 31 shots (.935 SV%), but was on the wrong end of a 3-2 shootout loss to the Colorado Avalanche. The 23-year-old goalie has a 3.10 GAA and .892 SV% in 10 games with the Blackhawks (3-6-1). Gustavsson will start on Long Island on Friday.

Minnesota has salvaged a point in two straight losses (0-0-2), keeping them in control of a Wild Card spot in the Western Conference. They will turn to Gustavsson between the pipes on Friday against the New York Islanders, looking to build on his 2.54 GAA and .915 SV% through 53 games this season (29-17-6). The 26-year-old Gustavsson has a 3.88 GAA and .880 SV% in his last three games (0-1-2). The Wild enter Friday's contest as +109 road underdogs against an Islanders team amid a six-game losing skid (0-4-2).

Filip Gustavsson
Boqvist is expected to be a healthy scratch vs. Washington on Friday.

Scott Mayfield will draw back into New York's lineup on Friday against the Washington Capitals, sending Boqvist to the sidelines as a healthy scratch. The 24-year-old Boqvist is averaging 13:55 time-on-ice and has 14 points (4G / 10A) in 34 games this season.

Adam Boqvist
Sorokin was the first goalie off the ice at New York's morning skate.

The Islanders have lost six straight (0-4-2), effectively removing themselves from the race for a Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference. They will likely turn to Sorokin between the pipes on Friday against the Minnesota Wild. The 29-year-old Sorokin allowed three goals on 23 shots (.870 SV%) in his most recent outing, a 4-1 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning. He has a 2.79 GAA and .904 SV% in 56 games this season (27-23-6). New York enters Friday's contest as -120 home favorites against a Minnesota team amid a three-game losing skid (0-1-2).

Ilya Sorokin
Lindgren will start vs. Chicago on Friday.

Lindgren was likely slated to be between the pipes on Friday regardless, but with Logan Thompson battling an upper-body injury, it became inevitable. The extent of Thompson's injury remains unclear, but Lindgren could be due for an increased workload for the remainder of the season. The 31-year-old Lindgren has a 2.66 GAA and .897 SV% in 34 games this season (17-12-3). The 29-year-odl Shepard has a 2.81 GAA and .891 SV% in 37 games (22-11-3) with Hershey this season.
