Vilardi will avoid arbitration and cash in after the 25-year-old agreed to a six-year contract extension worth $7.5 million AAV ($45M total) with Winnipeg on Friday. The Canadian right-winger is entering his seventh NHL season after posting career highs in almost all major categories last season, including goals (27), assists (34), points (61), SOG (130), and PPP (25). He is expected to return to his role on the Jets' top line and powerplay for the 2025-26 season.

Manitoba (AHL) will bring back one of its most physical defenders after the team announced Tuesday that Winnipeg had re-signed Tyrel Bauer to a one-year, two-way contract extension. The 23-year-old defenseman is entering his fourth season with the Moose and has yet to make his NHL debut. In 59 games in 2024-25, he had just two assists and 105 PIMs to go along with his -21 plus/minus.
Barron had eight goals and seven assists (15 points) in 74 games with the Jets in 2024-25. Barron found a role on the Jets' fourth line but he will have more competition for minutes in 2025-26 after the signings of Gustav Nyquist, Tanner Pearson and Cole Koepke.


After a succesful season in Manitoba (AHL) as an assistant captain, Mason Shaw will return to the Winnipeg organization as forward depth after signing a one-year, two-way contract extension on Thursday. The 26-year-old has 82 career NHL games played to his name (20 Pts) but spent the entire 2024-25 campaign in the minors with Manitoba, where he had 17 goals, 37 points and 114 PIMs in 72 games played.

Nyquist split the 2024-25 season between the Predators and Wild, finishing with 28 points (11G / 17A) in 79 games. With the Jets, Nyquist will likely serve as a middle-6 winger, who will see PP2 time. He's one-year removed from a 75-point season, so there's bounce-back potential in Winnipeg, although he'll be 36-years-old in September.

Despite not having made an NHL appearance since 2024-25, Samuel Fagemo has signed a one-year, two-way contract with Winnipeg on Wednesday. The 25-year-old forward has had no issue filling the net for Ontario (AHL) in the last two seasons, amassing 72 goals and 108 points in his last 117 AHL games played. He is expected to report to Manitoba (AHL) for the start of the 2025-26 season.

Walker Duehr will join his third NHL organization in two seasons after signing a one-year, two-way contract with Winnipeg on Wednesday. The 27-year-old undrafted right-winger appeared in 24 games between Calgary and San Jose in 2024-25, picking up two goals and three points alongside 15 SOG. He is expected to compete for a bottom-six role at Winnipeg's training camp to start this season.

Winnipeg added to its goaltending depth on the second day of Free Agency on Wednesday, signing Isaac Poulter to a one-year, two-way contract. The 23-year-old undrafted netminder struggled in his third season in Utica (AHL) in 2024-25, with his .898 SV% and 16-13-7 record. He is expected to report to Manitoba (AHL) for the start of the 2025-26 season.

Winnipeg added to their defensive depth in the minors on Day 1 of Free Agency after signing Kale Clague to a one-year, two-way contract. The 27-year-old has appeared in 94 career NHL games and has two goals and 21 points despite never picking up more than 24 SOG in any of his six seasons. He is expected to start 2025-26 in Manitoba (AHL).

After three seasons in Vancouver, Phil Di Giuseppe will join his fifth NHL organization after signing a one-year, two-way contract with Winnipeg. The 32-year-old left-winger appeared in only 20 games for Vancouver in 2024-25, scoring a goal, six points, and a -2 plus/minus. He will battle for a bottom-six spot out of training camp but is expected to start the season in Manitoba (AHL).

After a successful bounce-back campaign with Vegas in 2024-25, Tanner Pearson has signed a one-year, $1 million contract with the Winnipeg Jets. The 33-year-old left-winger is entering his 13th NHL season with his 6th different team after picking up 12 goals and 27 points in 78 games played with the Golden Knights in 2024-25.

Koepke established himself as a full-time NHL player last season, playing a career-high 73 games and scoring 17 points (7G / 10A) with the Boston Bruins. He is averaging 2.34 hits per game over 99 games in his career and add some grit to Winnipeg's bottom-six forward group.


Toews has not appeared in an NHL game since April 13th, 2024, but till make his return with his hometown Winnipeg Jets. Toews, who is a three-time Stanley Cup Champion and had 883 career points (372G / 511A) in 15 seasons with the Blackhawks, could earn up to $5M in bonuses. He's expected to serve as a much-needed middle-6 centre for the Jets in 2025-26.

Freij was a second-round pick (No.37 overall) of the Jets in 2024 and septa the 2024-25 season with Bjorkloven IF (HockeyAllsvenskan), where he posted two goals with six assists (eight points) in 29 games. The 19-year-old defenseman is expected to move up to Sweden's top league in 2025-26 and play for Timrå IK.

Despite playing in 59 games with the Jets in 2024-25, Rasmus Kupari announced Tuesday that he had signed a two-year contract in Switzerland with Lugano (NL). Winnipeg is expected to retain the 25-year-old despite him heading overseas.

Winnipeg announced Wednesday that their captain, Adam Lowry had successfully undergone hip surgery and would be out for approximately 5 to 6 months as he recovers. The 31-year-old is not expected to be ready for the start of the 2025-26 season after putting up 16 goals, 34 points and a +18 plus/minus in 73 games played in 2024-25.
