Trocheck will undergo surgery to repair significant damage to his leg; out long-term.

Trocheck suffered a gruesome injury in Ottawa on Monday night and could miss the rest of the 2018-19 season. The Panthers likely won’t release an official timetable until after Trocheck’s surgery, but their centre depth just took a huge hit. Henrik Borgstrom could be recalled to fill-in for the 25-year-old.

Quick is out indefinitely after undergoing surgery to repair a torn meniscus.

Quick already missed five games this season with a lower-body injury and will now miss at least a couple of months following surgery to repair a torn meniscus. This is the second major injury that Quick has suffered in the last three seasons. The Kings will turn to a goaltending duo of Jack Campbell and Peter Budaj for the foreseeable future.

Dowling will skate on the Stars top line on Thursday.

Dowling recorded an assist in his season debut on Tuesday, playing extremely well on the Stars second line. They will reward him with a chance to play with Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn tonight vs. the Ducks. Dowling had six points (2G / 4A) in seven games with Texas (AHL) before being called-up.

Quick leads the Kings onto the ice for warmups.

Quick allowed four goals on 25 shots in the Kings loss to the Sabres on Saturday. Quick has been roughed up in his first two starts since returning from injury, allowing a combined 10 goals on 54 shots (.815 SV%). Things won’t get any easier tonight vs. the Stars, who are great on home-ice and rank fifth in the NHL in shots-per game (34.4).

Quick leads the Kings onto the ice for warmups.

Quick had a rough return to the crease on Thursday, allowing six goals on 29 shots in the Kings loss to the Islanders. Despite the terrible outing, the Kings will stick with their unquestioned No.1 netminder this afternoon. He has a strong matchup against a Sabres team that is currently 30th in the NHL in scoring (1.86 GF/PG).

The Bruins have recalled Urho Vaakanainen from Providence (AHL) on an emergency basis.

Vaakanainen, 19, has registered two assists in six games with Providence so far this season. The 2017 first round pick (No.18 overall) could draw into the lineup in Vancouver after being called-up on an emergency basis, suggesting someone is hurt.

Quick allowed three goals on 33 shots in the Kings loss to the Sharks on opening night. Quick has been on IR with a lower-body injury ever since, but it looks like he’ll be back between the pipes tonight. Quick returns in a matchup with an Islanders team that is 25th in the NHL in goals, averaging just 2.40 per game through five games.

Quick (lower-body) will skate on Monday and face shots on Tuesday.

Quick has been out since the Kings season opener but will be back on the ice for the first time on Monday. This is a huge step for Quick, who is expected to face shots tomorrow as the next step in his recovery. The Kings No.1 netminder remains without a timetable for his return so they will continue to roll with Jack Campbell between the pipes.

Quick (lower-body) is “probably more like week-to-week.”

The Kings have announced that goaltender Jonathan Quick is probably closer to week-to-week than day-to-day, which means they will turn to Jack Campbell and Peter Budaj as their goaltending tandem for at least the next couple of weeks. Campbell had a strong showing in his first start and makes for a solid replacement while Quick is sidelined.
