Stamkos is out indefinitely after scoring 14 goals and adding 9 assists (t-1st in NHL with 23 points) in 16 games. Valtteri Filppula, Tyler Johnson and Nate Thompson should see expanded roles with Stamkos out.

Stamkos was in obvious pain and has been taken to the hospital for X-rays. It looked gruesome and could be a severe injury for the Lightning sniper. We will get a full update when it is released.

Forsberg has struggled in his first full season with the Predators. The 19-year-old has one one goal and four assists with a minus-8 rating in 11 games. He has seen his ice time diminish in recent games, so he will head to the AHL where he will see plenty of ice time. Taylor Beck has been recalled with Forsberg going down.

Forsberg has seen his TOI drop during the last four games, and tonight he will be a healthy scratch. The 19-year-old has one goal, three assists and minus-7 rating through nine games.

Josi missed 10 games after suffering a concussion on a hit by Steve Downie on October 4. He will return to the lineup on the second pair with Kevin Klein. The duo should see 20-plus minutes a night, and if Josi can stay healthy he should push for 25 points in the remaining 70 games.

Predators head coach Barry Trotz plans to give him "top four" minutes, but did not commit to pairing. Josi, who has missed the last 10 games, has mostly been skating with Kevin Klein in practice. He will likely play 20-plus minutes on a regular basis, and could push for 30 points if he stays healthy for the remaining 70 games.

Nashville Predators defenseman Roman Josi is getting closer to a return to game action. Josi participated in practice Monday, the fourth time he has skated with the team in the last five days. He has not played in a game since Oct. 4. “It’s always a slow process with a concussion; you have to go slow and see how you feel,” Josi said of the recovery process. “It takes a while. It’s been almost a month now and I’m excited to be back.”

Josi has missed the Predators last 10 games with a concussion suffered on October 4th. He has been cleared for contact, which suggest he will return to the lineup shortly. Josi was skating with Kevin Klein in practice this morning, which likely means rookie Seth Jones will stick with Shea Weber.

Josi practicing with Klein means that the Preds plan on keeping Seth Jones and Shea Weber together once Josi is able to return. Nashville doesn't play until Thursday, consider Josi questionable for that contest.

Josi won't be in the lineup tonight, but this is a positive sign that he is nearing a return.

Josi who has been out since October 4th, has yet to join his teammates for a practice but has been working out on his own. Predators head coach Barry Trotz says that Josi remains day-to-day. Don't expect a return from Josi until he rejoins his teammates. With the emergence of Seth Jones, the Predators will not rush Josi back.

Josi has missed the last three games with a concussion. He will return shortly he is cleared for contact, but that doesn't seem like it will be anytime soon.

Ryan Ellis will enter the lineup for Josi. He should be considered day-to-day.

The 19-year-old sat out the first two games of the season with a lower body injury. He had one assist in five games with the Predators after coming over from the Capitals last season. He will start on a line with David Legwand and Eric Nystrom.

Monitor his status prior to Tuesday's contest with the Wild. Ryan Ellis will enter the lineup should Josi be inactive.

Josi's status for Tuesday's contest is unknown, monitor his status tomorrow.

Josi scored five goals with 15 assists (18 points) in 48 games for Nashville last season. He just signed a seven year contract extension with the Preds this offseason. He is a key part of their blueline, so they can not afford to lose him for an extended period of time. Expect an update tomorrow.

Forsberg unlikely to play in the Predators first two games. Still day-to-day.

While Forsberg was on the ice with the rest of his teammates, he was not featured on any line. He was an extra in practice which suggests he will sit vs. the Blues tomorrow. He is not expected to miss an extended period of time and could be back by Friday.

Forsberg was expected to be ready for the season opener, but that is not a for sure thing anymore. Consider him questionable and monitor his status prior to Thursday's opener.
