Chicago was in need of some goaltending depth and signed 25-year-old Olivier Rodrigue on Saturday to a one-year, two-way contract. The goaltender has two NHL appearances under hit belt and last appeared with Bakersfield (AHL) in 2024-25, posting a 18-16-8 record, .897 SV% and 3.12 GAA. He is expected to report to Rockford (AHL).
With Stuart Skinner (upper body) returning to the lineup on Friday, Rodrigue has been reassigned to the Bakersfield Condors (AHL). The 24-year-old Rodrigue made his NHL debut in his brief stint with the Oilers, posting a 3.10 GAA and .862 SV% in two winless appearances.
Rodrigue made his NHL debut last month, saving seven of eight shots in a relief effort, and will make his first career start on Monday against the Anaheim Ducks. The 24-year-old Rodrigue was a second-round pick, 62nd overall, of the Oilers in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft. The 22-year-old net minder was Edmonton's 2018 second-round pick (62nd overall) and has yet to see any time in the NHL but has racked up 53 appearances in three years of AHL action.
Rodrigue, 18, was picked in the second-round (No.62 overall) in 2018 and finished his third season with Drummondville (QMJHL) where he was 35-9-1 with a 2.43 GAA and .902 SV%.
