Chicago has acquired Ryan Ellis, Jake Furlong, and a 2028 4th round pick from San Jose for Laurent Brossoit, Nolan Allan and a 2028 7th round pick.

Ellis is in the 7th year of an eight-year, $50 million contract, but is not eligible to play due to a significant back injury, making this trade a salary dump for San Jose. Ellis's last NHL appearance was in the 2021-22 season.

Miller has been sidelined for nearly three weeks because of an upper-body injury, but should return to the lineup on Thursday against the Buffalo Sabres. The 32-year-old Miller has a pedestrian 22 points (10G / 22A) in 35 games this season, but was producing at a better rate lately, with eight points (3G / 5A) in his last nine games.

Hart will start vs. Columbus on Thursday.

The Golden Knights continue to rely on Hart despite his recent struggles. The 27-year-old Hart saved 17 of 20 shots (.850 SV%) and held on for a 4-3 overtime win over the Winnipeg Jets in his most recent game, and has a dreadful 3.84 GAA and .828 SV% in his last six outings (2-3-1). Greaves will start in Vegas on Thursday.

The Blue Jackets have heavily relied on Greaves in recent weeks, and he will start for the 13th time in 15 games when the Blue Jackets face the Vegas Golden Knights on Thursday. Greaves' heavy workload has been earned, posting an excellent 2.44 GAA and .921 SV% in his last 13 outings (5-7-1). He has a 2.65 GAA and .910 SV% in 29 games this season (12-11-6). The Blue Jackets enter the action on Thursday as +134 road underdogs against a Golden Knights team that snapped a five-game losing skid (0-3-2) with a 4-3 overtime win on Tuesday against the Winnipeg Jets.

Jet Greaves
Zamula will make his Blue Jackets' debut in Vegas on Thursday.

Pittsburgh recently acquired Zamula in a trade, but he failed to report to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (AHL), leading the team to place him on waivers and terminate his contract. He since signed a one-year contract with the Columbus Blue Jackets and will make his team debut on Thursday against the Vegas Golden Knights. The 25-year-old defenseman averaged 14:02 time-on-ice and recorded one assist in 13 games with the Philadelphia Flyers.

Parekh is day-to-day with an upper-body injury.

Parekh started the season in the NHL but struggled to acclimate before an injury sidelined him for a lengthy period. He was then sent to play for Team Canada at the U-20 World Junior Championship, where he excelled with 13 points (5G / 8A) in seven games. The Flames hope his bronze-medal success can give the 19-year-old some confidence whenever he returns from his injury.

Zayne Parekh
Eberle (undisclosed) is a game-time decision vs. Minnesota on Thursday

The Kraken could be without one of their top offensive contributors in recent weeks, as Eberle was absent from the team's morning skate on Thursday. The 35-year-old veteran forward has turned back the clock lately, with 14 points (7G / 7A) in his last 17 games.

Jordan Eberle
Terry (upper-body) is out vs. Carolina on Thursday and is considered day-to-day.

Terry is coming off a two assist performance and has been on fire lately, but will not play on Thursday against the Carolina Hurricanes. The 28-year-old forward is pacing for a career best, with 42 points (13G / 29A) through 43 games. He has seven points (3G / 4A) in his last five games.

Troy Terry

Toews (upper-body) remains week-to-week but is expected back before the Olympics.

Toews briefly exited Saturday's game against the Carolina Hurricanes because of an upper-body injury, but returned to the game late in the third period. However, he did not play on Sunday and has been sidelined since, with a return in two weeks being the "best case" scenario. The 31-year-old Toews is averaging 22:20 time-on-ice and has 13 points (1G / 2A) in 40 games this season.

Devon Toews
Landeskog (upper-body) is week-to-week with his return expected close to the Olympic break.

Landeskog collided with the opposing goal post in Sunday's game against the Florida Panthers and needed assistance being helped off the ice. The Avalanche faithful breathed a sigh of relief when the team revealed the injury was to his upper-body, not his knees, which had previously sidelined him for nearly three seasons. The 33-year-old Landeskog has 22 points (7G / 15A) in 41 games this season and has started to show signs of his old self, with 15 points (5G / 10A) in his last 19 games.
