Vegas Golden Knights News

Hill was the first goalie off of the ice at the Golden Knights morning skate.

Hill will get his second start of 2022-23 Thursday after stopping 31 of 33 shots in his Vegas debut in a 5-2 win over the Seattle Kraken last week. The netminder has backed up Logan Thompson for two of Vegas' three victories on the season and will be hoping to keep his .952 SV% in check when the Golden Knights host the Jets on Thursday. The Jets play their second game in as many nights after beating the Avalanche 4-3 in overtime last night.

Hart will start Tuesday in Tampa.

Carter Hart will look to keep his undefeated record intact as he leads the surprising 2-0-0 Philadelphia Flyers into Tampa Bay to take on the Lightning. Hart has made 28 or more stops in each of his victories while allowing no less than two goals. Tampa has struggled to find the net in their first three games, surpassing two goals only once so far this season in their only win.

Hill will start in Seattle on Saturday.

Adin Hill will get his first start as a member of the Vegas Golden Knights Saturday. The 26-year-old has enjoyed a decent career so far across five NHL seasons, winning 29 games while posting a career .908 SV% across 63 starts with San Jose and Arizona. He will look to start his Vegas career off on the right foot as they take on Seattle Saturday.

Hart will start the Flyers' season opener vs. the Devils.

Hart will get the Flyers' first start of the season under new head coach John Tortorella. The Flyers' netminder will be looking to achieve an SV% above .905% for the first time in three seasons as he enters 2021-22. The 24-year-old has struggled for the last two seasons, averaging a nearly 3.30 GAA average across 69 starts during that time.

Hagg (head) could be ready for the Red Wings' season opener.

Hagg re-joined the Red Wings on Friday for the first time since taking a puck to the head in a scrimmage in late September. Hagg, who signed a one-year deal with the Red Wings in the summer, is expected to open the season as their No.6 defenseman next to Gustav Lindstrom. The 27-year-old had nine points (1G / 8A) in 64 NHL games with the Sabres and Panthers in 2021-22.

Hart (lower-body) says he'll be ready for the Flyers' season opener.

Hart has been battling a lower-body injury and has yet to appear in a pre-season game. Hart said he's hopeful that he'll be able to play in one of the final preseason games but that he and the team are being extra cautious to make sure he's 100 percent for the start of the season.

The Golden Knights have re-signed Jonas Rondbjerg to a three-year contract.

Rondbjerg nearly split his time evenly between the NHL and AHL in 2022. With the Golden Knights he played almost exclusively on the fourth line, posting six points (2G / 4A) in 30 games while averaging just 10:01 TOI/gm. Entering 2022-23, Rondbjerg will likely be vying for one of the final roster spots on the Golden Knights' opening night roster.

The Golden Knights have re-signed Brett Howden to a one-year, $1.5 million contract.

Howden was originally not qualified by the Golden Knights but ended up signing a one-year deal to stay with the team. Howden, who was a first-round pick in 2016, has never lived up to the offensive potential he flashed in the WHL. He's played almost exclusively as a fourth-line centre and will likely continue to do so in 2022-23.

The Golden Knights have re-signed Reilly Smith to a three-year, $15 million contract.

Smith has been with the Golden Knights since the beginning but his production has being to slip recently. He posted a career-high 60 points in 2018 and career-best 27 goals in 2020, however he has just 30 goals and 33 assists (63 points) in his last 109 games combined over the last two seasons. He'll still be a top-6 player for the Golden Knights in 2022-23 and has some bounce-back potential if his on-ice SH% comes back up to double-digits.
