St Louis Blues News

Hofer will start against the Blackhawks on Friday.

The Blues will unsurprisingly turn to Hofer between the pipes tonight after Jordan Binnington got the nod in Nashville on Thursday. Hofer was tagged with the loss in his last start, allowing four goals on 30 shots in a 5-2 defeat at the hands of the Bruins on Tuesday. The 25-year-old netminder carries a 4-6-2 record and an .890 SV% into Friday night's matchup with the Blackhawks, where St. Louis enters action at -115 on the money line.

Kaskimaki has been assigned to Springfield (AHL).

The 21-year-old Finnish forward has seven points (4G / 3A) in 16 games with the Springfield Thunderbirds (AHL) this season. He made his NHL debut earlier this month, scoring zero points and recording a -6 plus/minus in five games.

Drouin (lower-body) practiced on Friday and is expected to return on Saturday vs. Tampa Bay.

Drouin has not played in over a week due to a lower-body injury, but has practiced the past several days and should return to the lineup on Saturday against the Tampa Bay Lightning. The 30-year-old Drouin has 15 points (3G / 12A) through 26 games in his first season with the Islanders. He has only one assist in his last nine games and was recently demoted to the team's second powerplay unit before his injury.

Binnington will start in Nashville on Thursday.

It will be Binnington back between the pipes for the Blues after Joel Hofer got the nod in Tuesday's loss to the Bruins. Binnington was able to secure the victory in his last start, stopping 23 of the 26 shots he faced in a 4-3 win in Montreal on Sunday. The 32-year-old netminder brings a 7-7-5 record and .875 SV% into Thursday night's game in Nashville, where the Blues enter action at +110 on the money line.

Hofer will start vs. Boston on Tuesday.

The Blues' miserable 2025-26 season has some rare positive notes, riding a two-game winning streak and receiving impressive goaltending from Joel Hofer. The 25-year-old Hofer posted an ugly 3.70 GAA and .836 SV% in his first six games (1-5-0), but has been the most reliable goalie on the team in recent weeks, posting an excellent 2.00 GAA and .928 SV% in his last eight games (3-3-2). The Blues enter Tuesday's contest as -130 home favorites against a Boston Bruins team that defeated them 5-2 less than a week ago.

Kyrou is week-to-week with a lower-body injury.

Kyrou played just 53 seconds before leaving Saturday's game with a lower-body injury that he sustained hit from Stephen Halliday. Post-game, Blues' head coach Jim Montgomery said that Kyrou needs an MRI for a full diagnosis. It's unclear what the MRI revealed, but Kyrou will be sidelined week-to-week. The 27-year-old forward had 16 points (8G / 8A) and a -9 plus/minus in 28 games before his injury.
