Murray has missed the last nine games with a concussion but will be an option in goal tomorrow. Murray will take part in the morning skate and the Penguins will see how he responds after the skate before making a decision.



Murray has missed the last seven games with a concussion but he faced “full shots” before Tuesday’s practice and will accompany the team on their three-game road trip that starts Wednesday in New York. This doesn’t guarantee that Murray will start on the trip, but at least opens the door for him to practice with the team.

Grubauer stopped all 24 shots that he faced in the Capitals win in San Jose on Saturday. Grubauer is playing very well, so the Capitals will stick with Grubauer tonight vs. the Jets. Grubauer has not allowed more than two goals in nine straight games—stopping 206 of the last 216 shots (.954 SV%) that he has faced. The 26-year-old has a tough matchup but is 5-3-0 with a 1.90 GAA and .934 SV% at the Capital One Arena this season.

Grubauer has allowed two or less goals in his last eight appearances (5 starts, 3 relief) while posting a rock solid 1.58 GAA and .948 SV% in the process.

Hayden, 23, has picked up five goals and nine assists (14 points) in 22 games with the IceHogs this season. He spent the early part of the season in the NHL and is recalled with 15 points (4G / 11A) in 51 career NHL games.

Eberle left Thursday’s practice with some general soreness and his status for Friday’s game is in question. The Islanders had no update on Eberle’s status this morning, so consider him a game-time decision.
