Dellandrea will be a healthy scratch for Thursday's game in Anaheim.

Dellandrea will sit in favour of Sam Steel tonight after playing in each of the Stars' first two games. The 23-year-old scored nine goals and added 18 assists in 82 games with the Stars last season. Through two games in 2023-24 he's registered no goals and one assist with an ATOI of 12:29.

Marc-Edouard Vlasic (undisclosed) will return to the Sharks' lineup Thursday vs. Boston

Vlasic missed the Sharks' previous game due to an undisclosed injury but will return to San Jose's lineup Thursday vs. Boston. The 36-year-old stay-at-home defensemen is in his 18th NHL season (all with San Jose) and had one SOG, a +1 plus/minus and zero points in two games so far in 2023-24.

Vlasic missed the Sharks' morning practice Monday after leaving their previous game vs. Colorado after just five shifts and 3:15 TOI and is expected to be out Tuesday as San Jose takes on Carolina due to an undisclosed injury. The 36-year-old veteran is in his 18th NHL season and has played in 70+ games in every full NHL season since 2015-16.

Nedeljkovic fell into a backup role with the Red Wings last season and went 5-7-2 with a 3.53 GAA and .895 SV% in 15 games (13 starts). This summer he signed with Penguins, where he'll serve as Tristan Jarry's backup. He had a strong pre-season but is far from the goalie we saw in 2021 when he posted a 1.90 GAA and .932 SV%. Nedeljkovic has a sub-par matchup vs. the Flames and should probably be left on the waiver wire until he has a better matchup.

Couture has missed the entire preseason with a lower-body injury and will be forced to miss the Sharks' season opener vs. Vegas as he is week-to-week with the ailment. The 34-year-old top-line centre is a massive loss for San Jose after he had 27 goals, 40 assists, 198 SOG, 19 PIMs, and a -30 plus/minus through 82 games in 2022-23.

Philipp Kurashev (left wrist) will begin the season on injured reserve retroactive to September 28th.

Kurashev was injured in the Blackhawks' preseason back on September 28th and has been placed on the injured reserve retroactive to that date with a left wrist injury. The 23-year-old forward is expected to be out indefinitely to start the season after collecting nine goals, 16 assists, 116 SOG, 14 PIMs, and a -32 plus/minus in 70 games with Chicago in 2022-23.

Pittsburgh has signed Colin White to a one-year, two-way contract after a successful PTO.

The 26-year-old forward was brought into Pittsburgh camp on a PTO and has earned himself a one-year, two-way contract worth $775,000. The Boston-born veteran had eight goals, seven assists, 64 SOG, and 12 PIMs across 68 games in his only season in Florida in 2022-23. He is joining his third NHL team after spending six years in Ottawa and one with the Panthers.

San Jose has signed Jake Furlong to a three-year, entry-level contract.

Furlong was drafted in the fifth round of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft (140th overall) and signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Sharks on Thursday. The 19-year-old Halifax Mooseheads (QMJHL) captain had seven goals, 43 assists, 40 PIMs and a +47 plus/minus in 67 games in 2022-23 in the Quebec league. He has returned to Halifax for his 2023-24 season.

Quentin Musty had been signed to a three-year, entry-level contract.

Musty was San Jose's 2023 first-round pick (26th overall) and signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Sharks on Wednesday. The 18-year-old left-winger had 26 goals, 52 assists, 71 PIMs and a +16 plus/minus through 53 games played with Sudbury (OHL) in 2022-23. He is expected to return to the OHL for his third season with Sudbury for the 2023-24 season.

Quentin Musty
Kurashev could miss the start of the regular season with a wrist injury.

Kurashev is expected to resume skating this week, but the Blackhawks said it's possible he's not ready for the start of the regular season. They should have a better idea of where he's at later in the week. Kurashev is expected to start the season in the Blackhawks' top-6 on a line with Lukas Reichel and Andreas Athanasiou.

Kurashev had nine goals, 16 assists, 116 SOG, 14 PIMs and a -32 plus/minus through 70 games played with Chicago in 2022-23 and has been awarded a two-year, $4.5 million contract extension ($2,250,000 AAV) by an arbitrator. The 23-year-old centre enters his fourth season in Chicago after being drafted in the fourth-round of the 2018 draft (120th overall) and has 23 goals and 62 points across 191 career NHL games played.

The New York Islanders have signed Jakub Skarek to a two-year, two-way contract.

Skarek was 15-16-3 with a .892 SV% and 3.37 GAA in 2022-23 with Bridgeport (AHL) and has signed a two-year, two-way contract extension with the Islanders. The 23-year-old goaltender was selected by the Islanders in the third-round of the 2018 Draft (72nd overall) and has yet to make his NHL debut after four seasons in the AHL.

Dallas has signed Ty Dellandrea to a one-year, $900,000 extension.

Dellandrea had nine goals, 19 assists, 92 SOG, 54 PIMs and a +9 plus/minus through 82 games in 2022-23 and has signed a one-year contract extension with Dallas worth $900,000. The 22-year-old centre was drafted in the first-round of the 2018 NHL Draft (13th overall) by the Stars and completed his first full season of his career in 2022-23. The two-way specialist has 12 goals and 33 points in 109 games in his career.

San Jose has signed Leon Gawanke to a one-year, two-way contract ($775,000 AAV).

Gawanke was acquired in a trade for Artemi Kniazev late last week and has now signed a one-year, two-way contract extension worth $775,000 with San Jose. The 24-year-old is coming off an incredibly strong season in Manitoba (AHL) where he had 20 goals, 25 assists, 51 PIMs and a -6 plus/minus through 68 games played in 2022-23.
