Shesterkin was yanked after allowing five goals on 23 shots in the Rangers loss to the Devils on Saturday. It was a disastrous return to the crease for Shesterkin, who had his seven-game winning streak snapped in the process. Tonight he faces a Stars team that is on a five-game losing streak (0-3-2) while scoring just 1.40 goals per game.

Shesterkin has missed the last six games with a rib injury he suffered in a car accident in late-February. Prior to getting hurt, Shesterkin won seven in a row while posting a 2.03 GAA and .945 SV%. Trocheck was acquired from the Panthers on Monday and will draw right into Erik Haula's spot on Tuesday. Trocheck, who has 36 points (10G / 26A) in 55 games this season, will have Nino Niederreiter and Martin Necas on his wings in his debut. He'll likely see PP2 time as well.

Sheary returns to Pittsburgh after a two-year stint in Buffalo. Sheary has failed to replicate his production from his 52-point breakout campaign in 2017, averaging just 32 points over the last two seasons. He is set to become an unrestricted free-agent on July 1st.

Carolina will hope Trocheck can regain some of the elite form he flashed in the 2017-18 season, when he racked up a career high 75 points (31G/44A). Trocheck hasn't quite looked like himself since suffering a fractured ankle in November 2018. The 26-year-old has 10 goals and 26 assists through 55 games this season.
