New York Rangers News

Spencer Martin will start Wednesday vs. Tampa Bay.

Martin allowed four goals on 35 shots (.886 SV%) for his fifth-straight loss as he was defeated by Florida in his previous start. The 27-year-old has been very poor for the Canucks all season, as shown by his .880 SV%, 3.76. GAA and 11-10-1 record. He draws the unfortunate start of the Tampa Bay Lightning, who are in the middle of a four-game winning streak and are fifth in the NHL in goals per game (3.6).

Martin allowed three goals on 30 shots (.900 SV%) as he snapped a two-game winning streak with a loss to Calgary in his last start. The 27-year-old has fought the puck all season but still has an impressive 11-6-1 record, albeit with a .886 SV% and 3.55 GAA. He takes on the New York Islanders, who just snapped a three-game winning streak with a 4-1 loss to Seattle in their previous contest.

Igor Shesterkin will start Tuesday vs. Carolina.

Shesterkin stopped 39 of 40 shots (.975 SV%) but still took the hard-luck loss as he was defeated by Tampa Bay in his last time out. The 2021-22 Vezina Trophy winner has been solid again this season, with his 17-6-5 record, 2.41 GAA and .918 SV%. He takes on the NHL's hottest team in Carolina, who has won their last 11 contests.
