New York Rangers News

Shesterkin will start against the Panthers on Monday.

Shesterkin was on the wrong end of a 4-3 shootout loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday, snapping his seven-game winning streak, but will return to the crease on Monday. The 28-year-old netminder has been sensational since returning from the All-Star break, allowing fewer than two goals in five of eight games (7-0-1) while boasting an outstanding .948 SV%. The Rangers are +114 home underdogs against a Florida Panthers squad riding a four-game winning streak.

Brisson has been reassigned to the Henderson Silver Knights (AHL).

Brisson was the odd-man out of Vegas' roster on Monday as Jack Eichel (knee) returned from Injured Reserve and will head back to Henderson (AHL). The 22-year-old made a solid first impression as he kicked off his NHL career with two goals, six points 18 SOG, two PIMs and a -4 plus/minus through 12 games played before his demotion on Monday.

Martin will make his second start in three games as Carolina heads to Columbus to face his former team in the Blue Jackets on Thursday. He'll take on his old team on the road in Columbus, who have lost three of their last five games and are struggling offensively ranking 22nd in the NHL in goals per game (2.91).

Shesterkin led the Rangers onto the ice for warmups.

Shesterkin had the night off in a 4-2 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Sunday but will tend the twine in a rematch on Wednesday night. After an uncharacteristically inconsistent start to the season, Shesterkin has flipped a switch since the All-Star break, allowing fewer than two goals in four of six games (6-0-0), posting an impressive .951 SV%. Despite losing to them less than a week ago, the Rangers are sizeable -251 home favourites against the Blue Jackets on Wednesday.

Shesterkin will start on Thursday in New Jersey.

Shesterkin will look to extend New York's eight-game winning streak as he takes the crease for a third-straight start on Thursday in New Jersey. The 28-year-old all-star has surprisingly been the lesser of the Rangers' two starters this season, with his 23-12-1 record, 2.79 GAA and .904 SV%. He'll head right down the road to take on the New Jersey Devils, who have lost two of their last three games and rank 10th in the NHL in both goals per game (3.36) and shots per game (31.9).

He's managed to be an effective offensive contributor at the NHL level and has been rewarded with a two-year $1.575 million contract extension. The 30-year-old has 15 points (4G / 11A) in 37 games with the Rangers this season.
