With Chris Kreider (upper body) sidelined Berard will make his NHL debut on Monday against the St. Louis Blues. The 22-year-old Berard has 13 points (7G / 6A) in 16 games with the Hartford Wolf Pack this season. He is expected to skate on a line with Mika Zibanejad and Will Cuylle.

Martin is in the starter's crease at Carolina's morning skate.

Pyotr Kochetkov left the Hurricanes' previous game after a collision in overtime, temporarily leaving the crease to Martin. The 29-year-old Martine has been limited to only five appearances this season (1-2-1), posting a 3.21 GAA and .870 SV%, but could forced into more action if Kochetkov is out of the lineup for an extended time. The Hurricanes enter Monday's contest as -126 home favorites against the Dallas Stars, fresh off a 4-2 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning.

The Rangers have recalled Brett Berard from Hartford (AHL).

Berard was a fifth-round pick (No.134 overall) in 2020 and could make his NHL debut on Monday vs. the Blues. Berard is currently leading the Hartford Wolf Pack with 13 points (7G / 6A) through 16 games. His call-up suggests that Filip Chytil will remain out on Monday.

Martin will start in New Jersey on Thursday.

On the tail end of a back-to-back, the Hurricanes will turn to Martin between the pipes for the second time in four games. The 29-year-old Martin began the season in the AHL and has predominantly served as the backup to Pyotr Kochetkov. That said, he was tremendous in his previous outing, saving all 24 shots he faced in a 4-0 shutout victory over the Ottawa Senators. The Hurricanes have outscored their opposition 12-2 in their previous three games (3-0-0) and enter Thursday's contest as slight -103 road underdogs against the New Jersey Devils.

Miller will take an indefinite leave from the Canucks due to personal reasons.

Miller will be away from the team with no definitive timeline to return due to personal reasons. The 31-year-old Miller had been centering the top line and top powerplay unit in Vancouver and scored 16 points (6G / 10A) in 17 games, leading all forwards on the team.

Shesterkin will start against the Jets on Tuesday.

After giving Shesterkin the night off on Saturday, a 4-0 win over the Detroit Red Wings courtesy of a Jonathan Quick shutout, the Rangers will revert to Shesterkin on Tuesday in a battle against the league's first-place team, the Winnipeg Jets.
