Edmundson will make his 2022-23 debut after missing the first part of the season due to a back injury. The seven-year veteran played 24 games in 2021-22, scoring three goals and three assists while collecting 35 PIMs.

Kuemper stopped 33 of 35 shots (.943 SV%) but was unfortunately on the losing side of a 3-2 overtime loss to Carolina his last time out. Since signing in the off-season from Colorado, Kuemper has been incredibly solid, posting a 4-3-0 record to go along with his .922 SV% and 2.39 GAA. He faces the Detroit Red Wings Thursday who have been stumbling as of late, dropping three of their last four games and only scoring more than two goals once during that time.

He draws the tough task of taking on Vegas who leads the NHL in wins, points and least amount of goals allowed per game (1.73).

He has enjoyed a solid start to his Washington tenure, posting a .919 SV% and 2.48 GAA to go along with his 4-3-0 record. He faces Carolina who is coming off a 4-3 overtime win over Florida and averages the sixth most amount of shots per game (36.4).


Brown was the odd man out after Pavel Buchnevich returned from the injured reserve Saturday.




It was announced Friday that Byfield will miss the Los Angeles game Saturday vs. the Toronto Maple Leafs due to illness. Byfield has yet to score in 2022-23, but has three assists and a -1 rating through his first eight games.


After returning last game head coach Craig Berube has stated Brown is just not up to speed yet. He will get the night off Thursday.


Kuemper stopped 23 of 26 shots as he won his third game in four starts 4-3 vs. Los Angeles his last time out. In his first season with the Capitals, Kuemper has struggled to find his footing, posting a .899 SV% and 3.04 GAA across his first five starts. He takes on Dallas, who is 1st in the Central, even though they've lost their last two games.
