Alexandrov was a second-round pick in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. He played 28 and 23 games with the St. Louis Blues in the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons, respectively, but has exclusively been an AHL player since. He scored 14 points (3G / 11A) in 18 games with the Springfield Thunderbirds (AHL) this season.
Springfield (AHL) will bring back one of their best scorers from the 2024-25 season after St. Louis announced on Saturday it had signed Nikita Alexandrov to a one-year, two-way contract extension. The 24-year-old last appeared with the Blues in 2023-24 but still had a successful seaosn in the minors with Springfield last year, putting up 21 goals and 49 points in 48 games played.
St.Louis solidified their offensive depth on Monday as they came to a one-year, two-way agreement with 24-year-old Nikita Alexandrov. The tall centre was expected to take a step forward in his sophomore campaign in 2023-24, but struggled offensively with only two assists, four PIMs and 15 SOG in 23 games played. He will look to add on to the three goals and nine career points he has amassed through his 51 NHL games played across two seasons.
Alexandrov has not played since February 15th, his only game in February, and will re-enter the lineup on Wednesday. The 23-year-old Alexandrov has one point (0G / 1A) in 18 games this season. Kasperi Kapanen will be the odd man out of the lineup.
Alexandrov has been reassigned to the Springfield Thunderbirds of the AHL, allowing the Blues to recall Jakub Vrana. Alexandrov was held without a point in 10 games with the Blues this season and will likely make his 2023-24 Thunderbirds debut after scoring 38 points (19G / 19A) in 41 games with the AHL club last season.
Alexandrov has yet to dress in any of the Blues first two games but Is set to make his season debut Thursday vs. Arizona. The 23-year-old forward appeared in 28 games in 2022-23, picking up three goals, four assists, 28 SOG and eight PIMs. He is set to line up on the Blues' fourth line alongside Oskar Sundqvist and Jake Neighbours.
Alexandrov had 13 goals, 10 assists, 12 PIMs and a +6 plus/minus through 29 games with Springfield (AHL) but has been recalled to St. Louis Monday. The 22-year-old previously played in 20 games with the Blues this season, picking up three goals and two assists.
Alexandrov had three goals, two assists, 18 SOG, eight PIMs and a +5 plus/minus through 18 games with St. Louis but will head back to Springfield (AHL) as St. Louis heads into the All-Star break.
Alexandrov has two goals, two assists, 17 SOG, and a +5 plus/minus through 16 games with St. Louis but has been reassigned to Springfield (AHL) Friday. Prior to his promotion to St. Louis, he had 11 goals, seven assists, 12 PIMs and a -2 plus/minus through 22 games with Springfield.
