Pickard allowed one goal on 13 shots after replacing Semyon Varlamov in Colorado’s blowout loss to the Maple Leafs last night. Things won’t get any easier tonight against the Blackhawks in Chicago. Pickard is 4-2-0 with a2.78 GAA and .913 SV% on the road this season, but should be avoided tonight.
Pickard gave up four goals on 25 shots in Colorado’s loss to the Flyers on Wednesday. With Semyon Varlamov still out, Pickard will start vs. the Panthers. He has allowed a combined eight goals on 45 shots (.822 SV%) in his last two appearances. The Panthers come into Friday on the tail-end of a back-to-back and they’ve lost six of their last seven (1-3-3).
Lazar has missed the last three games with an upper-body injury, but will be back in the lineup vs. the Sharks. In nine games sine being called-up, Lazar has no points, two penalty minutes and nine shots.
Pickard was pulled after he allowed four goals on 20 shots in Colorado’s 10-1 loss in Montreal on Saturday. With Semyon Varlamov out with a groin injury, Pickard will face the red-hot Flyers tonight. Philadelphia has won nine in a row while averaging 3.56 goals for and 2.11 goals against per game.
Nurse was having a strong season until he tore ligaments in his ankle in early-December. He will miss up to three months, which means he is sidelined until mid-March, so his 2016-17 regular season shouldn’t be done.

Pickard has lost his last two starts while allowing seven goals on 64 shots (.891 SV%) and tonight he gets back between the pipes after Semyon Varlamov started the last three. Tonight Pickard starts in Boston—so far he has gone 3-0-0 with a 2.10 GAA and .932 SV% on the road.
Lazar left Monday’s game with an undisclosed injury and did not return and will head to Ottawa to undergo further evaluation. With Lazar out, the Senators recalled Phil Varone to take his place on the Senators’ west coast road trip.
Nurse is expected to be out long-term with a lower-body injury. This is a big blow to the Oilers’ blueline and thrusts Matt Benning into bigger role. With Nurse out, the Oilers have recalled Dillon Simpson from Bakersfield (AHL).

Lazar has spent the start of the year in Binghamton, where he collected three goals and one assist in 13 games. Lazar’s return to the NHL means the Senators are concerned that they could be without Mike Hoffman and Bobby Ryan on Saturday.
Hyman was not on the ice for Monday’s practice session, but he is expected to return to his spot on the Maple Leafs’ top line on Tuesday. Hyman has scored goals in back-to-back games.
Stecher sat out of Monday’s game in Brooklyn, but will be back in the lineup tonight vs. the Rangers. Stecehr will replace Philip Larsen and comes into play with one assist and a minus-3 rating in four games with the Canucks this season. The rookie defenseman will skate on the top-pair with Alex Edler and should see some power-play time as well.
Pickard stopped all 32 shots that he faced in Colorado’s shutout win over the Wild on Saturday. Pickard also stopped all three shots that he faced after replacing Semyon Varlamov in the Avs’ loss on Sunday. Pickard comes into Tuesday with a 3-0-0 record, 1.50 GAA and .946 SV% on the season and draws a strong matchup vs. the Coyotes.

Semyon Varlamov has struggled in his last two outings, so Pickard will get the first game of the Avalanche back-to-back. Pickard has won his two starts while posting a 2.49 GAA and .912 SV%, but makes for a risky start vs. a hot Wild squad.
With Chris Tanev set to return to the lineup on Wednesday, the Canucks have sent Stecher back to Utica. Stecher had no points, seven shots and a minus-3 rating in three games with the Canucks.
