He draws a terrible matchup vs. the Penguins tonight, but he stopped 28 of 31 shots in a 4-3 OT win in his first start vs. Pittsburgh.
Kulak has been battling an illness and has sat out for the last three games, but he will replace Jyrki Jokipakka in the lineup tonight in Pittsburgh. Kulak has just three assists in 18 games with the Flames this season.
Pickard allowed two goals on 25 shots in Colorado’s win over the Jets on Saturday. It was a nice game for Pickard, who has just eight wins in 23 starts this season. Pickard struggled in his first start vs. Montreal—he was pulled after allowing four goals on 20 shots in just 27 minutes of play.
Pickard allowed five goals on 31 shots in Colorado’s loss in Anaheim on Tuesday. Pickard has lost three straight while posting a 3.38 GAA and .907 SV%. With Spencer Martin struggling on Wednesday, they will go back to Pickard this afternoon. He has yet to face the Jets and is just 2-7-1 with a 3.32 GAA and .893 SV% on home ice.
Lazar was a healthy scratch on Tuesday, but will replace Chris Neil in the lineup tonight in Tampa Bay. Lazar has had a tough time since being called-up recording just one assist in 27 games on the Senators’ fourth line.
Lazar hasn’t played over 10 minutes in 14 of the last 15 games and has just one assist in 27 games this season. Chris Neil will take Lazar’s spot in the lineup.
Pickard allowed three goals on 41 shots in Colorado’s loss vs. the Canucks last Wednesday. With Semyon Varlamov out for the rest of the season, Pickard will get a chance to be their No.1 and comes into Tuesday with a 5-6-0 record, 2.71 GAA and .918 SV%. He faced the Ducks a few weeks ago and allowed two goals on 36 shots in a 2-1 loss.
