Barre-Boulet has been a healthy scratch most of the time since returning from Seattle (via waivers), so he'll go to the AHL to get some playing time.
Necas missed the last two games with an illness, that was not COVID-19 or the flu. Necas has scored three goals and three assists (six points) in 11 games this season and could play on the top line with Sebastian Aho on Tuesday.
Barre-Boulet will sit with Boris Katchouk returning from a lower-body injury. Barre-Boulet had previously played in seven straight games, scoring one goal with two assists.
Necas was held out of Thursday's practice because he was not feeling well and will be a game-time decision vs. the Flyers. Necas was not on the ice for the morning skate, so he looks like a true game-time call. Monitor his status when the Hurricanes' hit the ice for warmups at 6:30 PM ET.
Nichuhskin has been out since the season opener (Oct.13) but will play Thursday vs. the Canucks. Nichushkin, who had an assist and three shots in the opener, will skate on the second line with Nazem Kadri and Andre Burakovsky.
Girard was hurt in Wednesday's practice but will be available for tonight's game vs. Vancouver. Girard will skate on the second pair with Bowen Byram and comes in with three assists in eight games.
Makar has missed the last two games with an upper-body injury but will play Thursday vs. the Canucks. Makar skated with Devon Toews and on PP1 in Wednesday's practice.
