Nichushkin exited last Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Anaheim Ducks due to a lower-body injury after only 12:57 time-on-ice. The 30-year-old Nichushkin has 12 points (5G / 7A) in 17 games this season, and has been more productive lately, with nine points (3G / 6A) in his last 10 games. Nichushkin has played fewer than 55 games in each of the previous four seasons due to injuries and could be headed down that same path in 2025-26, as he is out week-to-week.

Wedgewood has been exceptional with Colorado this season, thrust into a starting role because of an injured Mackenzie Blackwood, and has likely earned himself a larger share of starts for the remainder of the season. The 33-year-old Wedgewood has a 2.26 GAA and .913 SV% in 14 appearances this season (10-1-2). He had a career-high 16 wins in the 2023-24 season as a member of the Dallas Stars.

Makar made his NHL debut earlier this season, playing 6:07 time-on-ice, but has primarily been in the AHL. The 24-year-old forward has four points (1G / 3A) in 13 games with the Colorado Eagles (AHL).
