Tarasenko (shoulder) is expected to make his season debut on Saturday.

Tarasenko has had three shoulder surgeries in 28 months but appears ready to make his season debut on Saturday night. Tarasenko is expected to replace Nathan Walker in the lineup and skate on a line with Brayden Schenn and David Perron. The last time we saw Tarasenko, he had 10 points (3G / 7A) in 10 games.

Tarasenko (shoulder) has a “good chance” to play on the Blues’ upcoming six-game road trip.

Tarasenko skated on a line with Brayden Schenn in Friday’s practice, indicating that he’s getting very close to making his season debut. The Blues start a six-game road trip on Saturday in San Jose and it goes until Monday, March 8th, so look for Tarasenko to debut sometime in the next week.

Tarasenko will undergo surgery on his left shoulder on Tuesday and will be re-evaluated in five months.

Tarasenko left last Thursday’s game vs. Los Angels with an injury that we now know will require surgery. This is a devastating blow for the defending Stanley Cup Champions. Tarasenko has missed just 15 games over the last five years but will be out until at least late-March, effectively ending his 2019-20 campaign. The in-house replacement for Tarasenko appears to be Robert Thomas for now but with Tarasenko heading to LTIR, don’t be surprised if the Blues make a move for a winger.
