Ottawa has signed Vladimir Tarasenko to a one-year, $5 million contract.

Tarsenko had 18 goals, 32 assists, 169 SOG, eight PIMs and a -14 plus/minus through 69 games played with both St. Louis and New York in 2022-23 and has signed a one-year, $5,000,000 contract with Ottawa. The 31-year-old right-winger will join his third team in his 12th NHL season and has 270 goals, 573 points with 2124 SOG through 675 career games played.

Tarasenko had 10 goals, 19 assists, 103 SOG, and a -18 plus/minus through 38 games with St. Louis but has been traded along with Niko Mikkola from the Blues to the New York Rangers for Sammy Blais, Hunter Skinner, a conditional 2023 first-round pick and a conditional 2024 fourth-round pick. He will make his Rangers debut Thursday vs. Seattle.

Vladimir Tarasenko has been activated from the injured reserve and is expected to play Tuesday (hand).

Tarasenko hasn't played since Dec. 31st due to a hand injury but was activated off the injured reserve Tuesday and is expected to return to the Blues lineup. The 31-year-old had 10 goals, 19 assists, 90 SOG, and a -13 plus/minus through 34 games prior to the injury.

Tarasenko will miss at least four weeks with a hand injury.

Tarasenko suffered a hand injury early in Saturday's game vs. the Wild and will be re-evaluated in one month. In addition to Tarasenko's injury, the Blues also lost Ryan O'Reilly for six weeks due to a broken foot. Jake Neighbours was recalled from the AHL to help replace Tarasenko on the wing.

Tarasenko was added to the COVID-19 protocol list on Thursday and will not play Friday vs. the Capitals.

The timing couldn't be worse for Tarasenko, who has scored seven goals with eight assists (15 points) in his last 10 games. His line with Robert Thomas and Jordan Kyrou has been among the hottest in the NHL but he'll likely miss at least two games.

Tarasenko (lower-body) will return to the Blues lineup for Game 1 in Colorado.

Tarasenko missed eight of the final nine games of the regular seasons but will play in Game 1 on Monday. His return will provide a big boost for a team that will be without David Perron, who is in COVID-19 protocol. Tarasenko scored four goals with 10 assists (14 points) in 24 games this season.

Tarasenko (lower-body) is expected to be back in the Blues lineup on Monday.

Tarasenko has missed the last two games with a lower-body injury but is expected to play Monday vs. the Ducks. Tarasenko was back on the second line and top power-play unit in the morning skate and comes in with 14 points (4G / 10A) in 23 games this season.
