Jacob Melanson News

Melanson returns from the AHL after Ben Meyers landed on IR on Wednesday. Melanson has been an absolute wrecking ball on the Kraken's fourth line, averaging 4.3 hits per game in his 15 games this season. During his time in the AHL, the 22-year-old has picked up 16 points (7G / 9A) in 26 games with Coachella Valley.

Melanson has recorded four points (1G / 3A) in a career-high 15 games with Seattle this season, but will return to a familiar place in the AHL. The 22-year-old forward has 14 points (7G / 7A) in 23 games with the Coachella Valley Firebirds (AHL) this season.

Melanson will take a seat on Wednesday in order to make way for Chandler Stephenson's (personal) return from a two-game absence. Melanson has one goal and three assists in 15 games this season.

With Seattle shipping Yanni Gourde and Oliver Bjorkstrand out of town on Wednesday, Jacob Melanson has been recalled from Coachella Valley (AHL). The 21-year-old right-winger was Seattle's 2021 fifth-round pick (131st overall) and has yet to make his NHL debut. In 27 games with Coachella in 2024-25, he had seven goals and 10 points.

Melanson was a fifth-round pick of the Kraken in the 2021 NHL Draft. The 19-year-old winger finished second on Acadie-Bathurst (QMJHL) in gold (35) and third in points (56) in 54 games in 2022.
