Brian Elliott News

Elliott starts tonight.

Elliott allowed one goal on 14 shots in a relief effort of Jaroslav Halak last Sunday. He gets the nod tonight against the Stars and their 14th ranked offence (2.71 G/PG). It is not a great matchup, but you can do worse than Elliott tonight.

Elliot goes on Saturday.

Elliott stopped 18 of 20 shots in a win over the Flames last Thursday. It was his second straight win and Elliott will look to make it three against a Hurricanes team who is starting to get healthy. He should be a strong start on most nights with a stout defense in front of him.

Brian Elliott will play Friday at Florida.

Elliott gave up three goals on 29 shots in a loss to the Jets on October 18th. The way Jaroslav Halak has played early on, Elliott has been held to just one start. He is 0-0-1 with a 3.53 GAA and .881 SV% in limited action. Elliott has a great chance to earn his first win tomorrow vs. the Panthers.

Elliott will start Game 6 in a win or go home situation for the Blues.

Elliott allowed three goals on 25 shots including arguably the softest goal he has allowed all series, in Ot to give the Kings a 3-2 lead in the series. He still holds an impressive 1.88 GAA and .925 SV% in the playoffs.

Elliott will start for the Blues.

Elliott stopped all but one of the Kings 21 shots in Game 3, but Jonathan Quick was unbeatable as Los Angeles won 1-0. Elliott ranks second in goals-against average (0.93) and save percentage (.962) among all playoff goaltenders.

Elliott gets the nod for the Blues.

Elliott got off a solid start, then slumped. In February, he was 0-4 with a 4.67 GAA and .810 save percentage. After losing 4-1 to the Kings on Feb. 11, he did not re-appear for almost a month as rookie Jake Allen came to the forefront. Once Elliott came back he was great in the final month of the season, he went 11-2 with a 1.28 GAA and .948 SV%.

Elliott has bounced back beautifully. He is now 9-2-0 with a 1.33 GAA and .947 SV% in April. He has a fantastic matchup against the Flames tomorrow, so he should be able to record his 10th win of the month.

Brian Elliott
Allen and Halak on the ice, leading one to believe Elliott would be the starter tonight.

Halak is out on the optional skate working his way back from injury and Allen is the backup so Elliott would be the default starter here. The Blues need this win as the bottom playoff seeds in the West are still seemingly up for grabs.

Elliott starts Thursday vs. #wild

Elliott is starting to look more like he did last year after a bad start to the season. He has recorded a shutout in each of his last two starts (vs. DET and NSH). He will be in the cage again tomorrow vs. the Wild. He is 2-0-0 with a 2.93 GAA and .861 SV% in two starts vs. Minnesota this season.
