Beauvillier set a career-high with 21 goals in 2018 but scored just 18 goals with 10 assists (28 points) in 81 games in 2019. The Islanders didn’t add much up front in the offseason, which will likely lead to Beauvillier playing a top-6 role for the duration of 2020.
Rempal turned pro in 2019 and recorded 40 points (15G / 25A) in 59 AHL games but did not have a point in seven NHL games after being called-up. Rempal has showcased offensive ability but will be limited to the bottom-6 when he’s in with the Kings in 2020.
McIlrath has spent the last two and a half years in the Red Wings organization, playing just seven NHL games and 149 AHL games. The physical defenseman had one goal, nine assists (10 points) and 98 PIMS in 52 games with Grand Rapids (AHL) this season.
van Riemsdyk suffered a shoulder injury in Game 2 vs. the Islanders and will miss the rest of the year after undergoing surgery. Haydn Fleury has replaced van Riemsdyk on the back-end and Jake Bean has been recalled as a reserve defenseman heading into the Eastern Conference Finals.
van Riemsdyk was hurt early in Game 2 and is out long-term with a shoulder issue. van Riemsdyk will undergo an MRI to determine the severity of the injury but head coach Rod Brind’Amour doesn’t expect to see van Riemsdyk back anytime soon.
Beauvillier took Thursday off but is expected to play in Game 2 as the Islanders go with the same lineup that escaped Game 1 with a 1-0 series lead. Beauvillier had one shot in 11:01 TOI in that contest.
Chychrun has been a healthy scratch for the last three games but will replace Jordan Oesetrle in Vegas. Chychrun has five goals and 15 assists (20 points) in 52 games this season.
Chychrun was a minus-3 last night in Chicago and will get the night off tonight in St. Louis. Kevin Connauton is expected to draw in and replace the third-year defenseman, who has five goals and 14 assists (19 points) in 47 games this season.
With Antti Niemi struggling mightily as of late, Lindgren comes up as a third goalie and could give Carey Price some rest down the stretch. The 25-year-old has gone 11-14-1 with a 2.94 GAA and 884 SV% in the AHL this season and is 7-8-2 with a 2.78 GAA and .914 SV% in 17 career NHL appearances.
