Pettersson left Tuesday's game vs. Washington with an upper-body injury that he suffered on a hit from T.J. Oshie. With Pettersson out week-to-week, Cody Ceci will likely draw back into the lineup for Pittsburgh on Friday. If he misses two weeks, he'll miss roughly seven or eight games.

Demko gave up five goals on 45 shots in a loss in Edmonton in his first start of the season and draws another tough assignment tonight in Calgary. In his first full NHL season, Demko went 13-10-2 with a 3.06 GAA and .905 SV%. His numbers improved drastically in a few postseason starts, going 2-1 with an 0.64 GAA and .985 SV%. He figures to split time with veteran Braden Holtby this season and gets the second half of the back-to-back after Holtby won in Edmonton last night.

MacEachern was originally sent to the taxi squad to the Blues could become cap compliant but was able to be recalled Wednesday because Vladimir Tarasenko was moved to LTIR. MacEachern had 10 points (7G / 3A) in 51 games a season ago.

Rossi's seven-day quarantine after arriving from the World Juniors has ended but the Wild unexpectedly announced that he is out indefinitely with an upper-body injury without ever practicing with the team. Rossi was expected to start the season with the Wild and play the maximum six games before decided whether to keep him on the roster or send him back to Zurich (Swiss-A). Expect the Wild to provide another update after Rossi undergoes further testing.

Rossi was the No.9 overall pick in the latest NHL Draft after leading the OHL with 120 points (39G / 81A) in 56 games with the Ottawa 67's. With the OHL season in limbo, Rossi will probably get a chance to make the Wild out of training camp but he will likely go to the OHL once their season gets underway.

Schuldt signed with the Golden Knights after four years at St. Cloud State and spent his first professional season with the Chicago Wolves (AHL), where he had six goals and 15 assists (21 points) in 52 games. Schuldt will likely start 2021 in the AHL but will be one of the first blueliners to get called-up by Vegas.
