Boeser travelled to Edmonton and was on the ice for the morning skate but did not participate in line rushes and will not play on Wednesday. Monitor his status as the Canucks head into a back-to-back on Friday and Saturday.

Boeser was expected to miss the start of the season, however, head coach Travis Green did not rule him out for Wednesday's season opener. Boeser travelled and will likely test his injury in the morning skate, so monitor his status this afternoon.

Garland was acquired from the Coyotes last week and the RFA quickly signed a five-year extension with his new team. In Vancouver, Garland will play with either Elias Pettersson or Bo Horvat and has averaged 24 goals and 31 assists (55 points) per 82 games over the last two seasons.

Contract talks between the Coyotes and Garland broke down and it was widely expected that he would be traded. The deal ended up being much larger and more complex than anyone could have predicted, but Garland should be a great fit in the Canucks new top-6. Garland is tied for 99th with 78 points (34G / 44A) over the last two seasons. Garland will likely replace Tanner Pearson on a line with Bo Horvat and Nils Hoglander.

Blueger missed 13 games with an upper-body injury in the shortened 2021 season but still managed to tie his career-best of 22 points (7G / 15A). With Blueger re-signed, the Penguins only need to sign RFA Zach Aston-Reese to bring back one of the best bottom-6 lines in the NHL (Tanev - Blueger - Aston-Reese).

Reichel was selected No.17 overall in 2020 and made another splash in the DEL in 2021, finishing fifth on the team with 27 points (10G / 17A) in 38 games. That's a terrific showing for a 19-year-old, who also had five points (3G / 2A) in seven games while representing Germany at the World Juniors. Reichel has a chance to break into the NHL in the 2021-22 season.
