Vejmelka will start Thursday vs. the Capitals.

Vejmelka allowed two goals on 24 shots (.917 SV%) for his seventh straight loss as he was downed by Winnipeg in his previous start. The 26-year-old has come back down to earth as of late, which has led to his 11-16-4 record, 3.33 GAA and .902 SV%. He will take on Washington, who has lost three of their last four games after a 4-2 loss to Minnesota last game.

Kailer Yamamoto has been placed on the long-term injured reserve (undisclosed).

Yamamoto will be eligible to return on February 7th after being placed on the long-term injured reserve Tuesday with an undisclosed injury. The 24-year-old had four goals, eight assists, 40 SOG and a +7 plus/minus through 31 games prior to the injury.

Jaxson Stauber has been recalled from the Rockford IceHogs (AHL).

Stauber has a 6-4-0 record, .896 SV% and 3.06 GAA in 12 games with the Rockford IceHogs (AHL) but has been recalled by the Chicago Blackhawks Tuesday. He will replace Alex Stalock, who was placed in concussion protocol for the second time this season on Tuesday.

Vanecek led the Devils onto the ice for warmups.

Vanecek stopped 31 of 33 shots (.939 SV%) for his fifth straight victory as he beat the Anaheim Ducks in his last start. It has been an incredibly successful first campaign in New Jersey for Vanecek, with his 17-5-2 record, 2.35 GAA and .914 SV%. He takes on the San Jose Sharks who have lost four of their last five games after a 7-1 loss vs. Edmonton last game.

Vejmelka will start Tuesday vs. the Sharks.

Vejmelka allowed three goals on 27 shots (.889 SV%) for his fourth-straight loss as he was defeated by Pittsburgh during his previous start. The 26-year-old has struggled as of late, but still has a decent 11-13-44 record, 3.33 GAA and .902 SV%. He will be hoping to get back in the win column, as he takes on the San Jose Sharks, who have been losers in four of their last five games.

Schmidt will be back in the Jets lineup on Friday (upper body).

Schmidt has not played since Dec. 15th due to an upper-body injury but will draw back into the Jets' lineup Friday vs. Tampa Bay. The 31-year-old veteran defenseman had three goals, three assists, 37 SOG and a +6 plus/minus through 29 games prior to the injury.

The 26-year-old has been incredibly solid for the offensively challenged Coyotes, with his 11-11-4 record, 3.23 GAA and .906 SV%. He will face Philadelphia Thursday, who is in the middle of a three-game winning streak with a 4-1 win over Anaheim last game.

He will take on the Detroit Red Wings, who have won three of their last four games but are 24th in the NHL in shots per game (29.6).
