Schmidt will be back in the Jets lineup on Friday (upper body).

Schmidt has not played since Dec. 15th due to an upper-body injury but will draw back into the Jets' lineup Friday vs. Tampa Bay. The 31-year-old veteran defenseman had three goals, three assists, 37 SOG and a +6 plus/minus through 29 games prior to the injury.

Vejmelka allowed five goals on 37 shots (.865 SV%) for his second-straight loss as he was defeated by Florida in his previous start. The 26-year-old has been incredibly solid for the offensively challenged Coyotes, with his 11-11-4 record, 3.23 GAA and .906 SV%. He will face Philadelphia Thursday, who is in the middle of a three-game winning streak with a 4-1 win over Anaheim last game.
