The Bruins thought there was a chance that Krug would make his season debut on Saturday, but head coach Bruce Cassidy said that he is “looking good for Tuesday.” The Bruins will continue to roll out a patchwork bluline with Krug and three other defensemen injured.

Krug has missed the first 10 games of the regular season but could make his season debut on Saturday. Krug’s return would be a huge boost for the Bruins, who’s blueline is missing Charlie McAvoy, Kevan Miller and Urho Vaakanainen. Krug is coming off of the best season of his career, picking up 14 goals and 45 assists (59 points) in 76 games.

Thomas has picked up just one assist in five games this season and will remain out of the lineup tonight vs. the Blue Jackets. Thomas has not played since October 14th.

Sundqvist will centre the Blues fourth line, which means that Robert Thomas will remain a healthy scratch. The 24-year-old had just five points (1G / 4A) in 42 games last season.

Buchnevich has two goals and one assist in five games this season and it looks like he’ll come out of the lineup for Cody McLeod on Tuesday. The Rangers have not confirmed that he’ll be scratched, but he was totally off the power-play and rotated on the fourth line in Monday’s practice.

Krug suffered an ankle injury in the Bruins preseason finale and will be in a walking boot for three weeks. Krug will be re-evaluated after that period of time and his injury could leave the door open for rookie Urho Vaakanainen to make the opening night roster.

Krug was forced to leave the Bruins’ final preseason game with a lower-body injury, but head coach Bruce Cassidy did not have an update on his status. Consider Krug day-to-day until the Bruins release an official timetable. This puts his status for the Bruins’ season-opener in jeopardy.


Holl was a second round pick in 2010 and made it to the NHL briefly last season. The 26-year-old scored two goals in his only two games with the Maple Leafs, but spent most of the year with the Marlies (AHL), where he had seven goals and 21 assists (28 points) in 60 games. Holl is projected to be the Maple Leafs’ seventh defenseman this season.


The Ducks are still battling for a playoff spot in the final week of the season, so this is a huge loss for them. Even if the Ducks are able to hold onto their playoff position, the loss of Fowler will hurt their blueline in the post season.

Krug has missed the last two games with an upper-body injury but is expected to play tonight in Minnesota. Krug has four assists in his last two games and 39 total on the season to go with 13 goals (52 points) in 62 games.
