Emil Bemstrom will make his season debut Thursday vs. the Flyers

Bemstrom earned his call-up to Columbus after leading the AHL in scoring so far this season with seven goals and 14 points in 10 games played. He also ranks 11th in the AHL in SOG with 35 while adding three of his goals on the PP. He will make his season debut with the Blue Jackets Thursday.

Filip Hallander will make his season debut Wednesday vs. Washington

Hallander will make his season debut Wednesday after having a strong showing in Wilkes-Barre (AHL) where he had four goals and nine points in 10 games while playing strong defensively with a +7 plus/minus. He has one career NHL game prior to the promotion.

Samuel Girard has a lower-body injury and is day-to-day.

Girard's lower-body injury comes as somewhat of a surprise after he played a season high 23:19 TOI in the Avalanche's second game in Finland Nov. 5th vs. the Columbus Blue Jackets his last time out. It is a tough blow for the injured Avalanche who also announced Bowen Byram is week-to-week earlier Tuesday.

Skinner will start Monday in Washington.

Skinner surrendered four goals on 43 shots in the Oilers loss to the Devils last Thursday. The loss snapped a brief two-game winning streak for Skinner, who is now 2-2-0 with a 2.10 GAA (6th in the NHL) and .944 SV% (3rd). Tonight he'll face a Capitals team that has lost four in a row (0-2-2) while scoring just 1.75 goals per game.

Skinner will start Thursday vs. the Devils.

Skinner was exceptional his last time out stopping 40 of 42 shots in a 3-2 victory over Calgary. The Edmonton native has been a revelation this season, leading all goaltenders in the NHL with a .955 SV% and is second in GAA with his 1.59 GAA. He faces off against the hottest team in the NHL in New Jersey, who is on a four game winning streak and ranks second in the league in shots per game (39.1) and sixth in goals (3.6).

Kris Letang will be a game-time decision Tuesday due to illness

The Penguins currently find themselves on a four-game skid so the news that Kris Letang may miss Tuesday due to illness does not come at a good time whatsoever. Letang has struggled early on in 2022-23, posting a -5 plus/minus rating with only four points (0G/4A) through his first nine games.

Skinner starts Wednesday in St. Louis.

Skinner allowed three goals on 23 shots in the Oilers loss to the Sabres last Tuesday. Through two appearances, Skinner has gone 0-1-0 while turning aside 51 of 54 shots (.944 SV%. That brings his SV% to .913 through 16 career appearances (14 starts). On Wednesday, he'll face a Blues team that is 3-1-0 and just knocked off Jack Campbell and the Oilers 2-0 on Saturday.

Caleb Jones will play Tuesday vs. the Florida Panthers after missing last game (healthy scratch)

Caleb Jones returns to the Blackhawks lineup to replace Filip Roos on Tuesday. Jones will return after missing his second game of the early season in Chicago's 5-4 win over Seattle Sunday. Through three games this season he is averaging 16:59 TOI while yet to collect his first point of the campaign.

Skinner is expected to start Tuesday vs. the Sabres.

Skinner should draw his first start of the season Tuesday as the Oilers host the Sabres on home ice. The Edmonton native was phenomenal in relief of Jack Campbell Saturday stopping all 31 of 31 shots while limiting the damage in the Oilers' 4-3 loss to Calgary. He enjoyed a strong first rookie season in 2021-22, collecting a .913 SV% while winning six of 12 starts.
