Silovs will start vs. Minnesota on Thursday.

The Penguins return to action for the first time since playing in Sweden last weekend, and will turn to Silovs to tend the twine on Friday against the Minnesota Wild. Silovs played well in his most recent outing, saving 28 of 30 shots (.933 SV%), but did not receive ample goal support in a 2-1 overtime loss to the Nashville Predators. The 24-year-old Latvian goalie has been impressive in his first season with the Penguins, posting a 2.44 GAA and .918 SV% in 10 games (4-2-4). The Penguins enter Friday's contest as -120 home favorites against a Wild team with points in six straight games (5-0-1).

With Tristan Jarry (lower body) sidelined week-to-week, Silovs has become the de facto starting netminder for Pittsburgh and will tend the twine on Friday in Sweden against the Pittsburgh Penguins. The 24-year-old Silovs was excellent in his most recent game, but did not receive ample goal support, saving 23 of 24 shots (.958 SV%) in a 2-1 shootout loss to the New Jersey Devils. He has a 2.49 GAA and .916 SV% in nine games this season (4-2-3). The Penguins enter Friday's overseas matchup as -119 favorites against a Predators team on a three-game losing skid.

Larsson has been recalled from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (AHL) to be Pittsburgh's third goalie while in Stockholm.

Larsson was drafted in the sixth-round, 167th-overall by the Detroit Red Wings, in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. He has never played an NHL game and is expected to join Pittsburgh in Sweden to precautionarily serve as the team's third goalie. The 27-year-old Larsson has a 2.92 GAA and .891 SV% in five games (3-0-1) with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (AHL) this season.

Murashov will make his first career start vs. Los Angeles on Sunday.

With Arturs Silovs getting the start on Saturday, Murashov will make his first career start on Sunday. Murashov had an outstanding start to the season with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (AHL), where he won AHL Player of the Month in October, going 5-2-0 with a 1.73 GAA and .931 SV% in seven games.

With Arturs Silovs getting the start on Saturday, Murashov is expected to make his first career start on Sunday. Murashov had an outstanding start to the season with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (AHL), where he won AHL Player of the Month in October, going 5-2-0 with a 1.73 GAA and .931 SV% in seven games.

The Penguins have activated Kevin Hayes from IR.

Hayes was a full participant in Friday's practice and appears set to make his season debut on Saturday. The 33-year-old veteran centre, is expected to start on the third line and second power-play unit. He had 13 goals and 10 assists (23 points) in 64 games last season.

Hayes (upper-body) will travel with the Penguins to New Jersey and is expected to return to the lineup.

Hayes has not played yet this season, recovering from an upper-body injury, but could make his season debut this weekend against the New Jersey Devils. The 33-year-old Hayes recorded 23 points (13G / 10A) while playing 64 games in his first season with the Penguins in 2024-25.

Hallander has been diagnosed with a blood clot in his leg and will miss a minimum of three months.

On Friday, the Penguins announced that Filip Hallander has a blood clot in his left leg and will sidelined for at least three month. The 25-year-old Hallander has already played a career-high 13 games this season and has four points (1G / 3A) this season.

Koppanen will make his season debut vs. Washington on Thursday.

Koppanen split his 2024-25 season between the NHL and AHL, but spent most of the season with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (AHL), where he had 23 points (8G / 15A) in 56 games. Koppanen has just one goal and one assist in 20 career NHL games since being drafted in the fifth round of the 2016 NHL Draft.
