Boqvist was not on the ice for the Blue Jackets' morning skate and will not be available for Tuesday's game vs. New Jersey. Boqvist had been filling in for Zach Werenski (upper-body) on PP1. With both of them out, either Dean Kukan or Jake Christiansen will likely take over that role.






DeAngelo left Monday's game in Philadelphia early and did not return. DeAngelo is expected to miss roughly four weeks, which should elevate Jaccob Slavin to the top power-play unit for the foreseeable future.


Varlamov will serve as Ilya Sorokin's backup in Seattle on Tuesday and should start one of their back-to-back games over the weekend. Varlamov missed four games while in COVID-19 protocol, Sorokin went 1-2-1 with a .902 SV% in that stretch.






Palmieri has been out of the lineup for the last three games but is expected to play in Buffalo. It's unclear where Palmieri will slot back into the lineup but if Monday's practice was any indication, he could skate on the fourth line with Casey Cizikas and Matt Martin. Ross Johnston is expected to be the healthy scratch to make room for Palmieri.


Heineman was originally a second-round pick (No.43 overall) of the Panthers but was traded to the Flames as part of the Sam Bennett trade last April. Heineman is a 20-year-old winger, who has scored 11 goals with five assists (16 points) in 36 games with Leksands IF (SHL) this season.
