Varlamov has won two in a row vs. two tough opponents (Chicago and San Jose). He will be back between the pipes tonight vs. Edmonton who are also coming off of a win vs. Chicago.

Varlamov became the first goalie to beat the Blackhawks in regulation this season when the Avs beat them 6-2 on Friday. He is 1-1-1- with a 2.31 GAA and .921 SV% so far in March and will look to better those numbers tonight vs. San Jose. He has two starts vs. the Sharks already this season going 0-1-1 with a 3.43 GAA and .910 SV%.

Varlamov has lost four of his last five starts posting a 2.93 GAA and .904 SV%. He has the toughest matchup possible tonight against the Blackhawks, but they have to lose in regulation eventually... Could Varly be the one to do it? Erik Johnson is back tonight and Ryan O'Reilly has a few games under his belt now, why can't it be Colorado? That being said you would be rolling the dice if you start Varlamov tonight.

Varlamov is 6-8-3 with a 2.79 GAA and .910 SV% this season. He has a very tough matchup vs. the Blackhawks on Wednesday. I would look elsewhere.

Matt Beleskey will likely take Palmieri's spot on the Ducks first line with Getzlaf and Perry. Brandon McMillan will enter the lineup in place of Palmieri.

Varlamov played great stopping 39 of 41 shots he faced vs. San Jose on Tuesday but still lost in a shootout. He will face a weak Flames team tonight so he should make for a pretty good start. He sees a lot of rubber so his SV% will be good on most nights, it is his GAA that is worrisome.

Varlamov comes in having won two of his last five while posting a 3.31 GAA and .907 SV%. Colorado is 28th in the NHL at 7-8-2 so Varlamov is not a very good fantasy option. The Avalanche need the offense to be better, the defence to be better and Varly to be better if they're going to have any success.

Clutterbuck was injured on a knee-on-knee hit by Oilers forward Taylor Hall. Hall was suspended two games for the incident. Clutterbuck is not fantasy relevant.

Clutterbuck has been ruled out for Saturday night's game against the Calgary Flames. Because the Wild wanted a right-shot winger to replace Clutterbuck, it reassigned rookie Johan Larsson and recalled rookie Charlie Coyle, who impressed during a recent five-game callup.

Varlamov has not been good as of late. He has given up 19 goals in his last 5 starts, which has only resulted in one win. And even in the win he gave up five goals in a 6-5 win, where the Avalanche scored a goal on a horrible missed offside call. He doesn't have a good matchup tonight either as the Avs take on the Blues.

Varlamov got peppered by the Oilers in his last outing giving up 5 goals on 55 shots. He still posted a .909 SV% but giving up 55 shots is not going to get the job done. Varlamov has a decent matchup today vs. Nashville especially since Pekka Rinne will be on the bench and Chris Mason will start.

Varlamov has lost 3 straight and gave up 3 goals in each game. The Avalanche are banged up and are struggling right now. They will take on the Oilers who with all their talent are also having a hard time scoring. Varlamov is a #2 fantasy option at this point.

Varlamov has a solid match-up tonight against a Coyotes team who is 20th in the NHL in scoring.

Varlamov has started all but 1 game so far this season for the Avs and will get the call tonight vs. Anaheim. He has struggled as of late losing 4 of his last 5 (allowed 14 goals in those 4 losses). Things don't get any easier for him tonight as the Ducks come in on a 3 game winning streak.
