Byron (knee) will not play Monday but is expected to travel on their two-game road trip.

Byron has been out since mid-November but it looks like he could get back into the lineup at some point this week. He will travel to Boston and Pittsburgh and could make his return either Tuesday or Thursday.

Evans will make his NHL debut on Thursday.

Evans was a seventh-round pick in 2014 and has scored 12 goals with 22 assists (34 points) in 48 AHL games this season. With Ryan Poehling and Jordan Weal both sick, the 23-year-old will make his NHL debut on the third line with Max Domi and Ilya Kovalchuk.

Gallagher (head) is set to return to the lineup on Thursday.

Gallagher missed four games before returning from a concussion on January 9th but suffered a setback and missed the next six games. Gallagher was back on the top line in the last two practices and is set to play Thursday in Buffalo. He has scored 15 goals with 17 assists (32 points) in 41 games this season.

Brendan Gallagher
Gallagher (upper-body) will not play on Saturday.

Gallagher returned from a concussion on Thursday but missed Friday's practice with headaches. Gallagher was scheduled to undergo testing to determine whether or not the headaches were concussion-related or something else, but that hasn't been determined yet. The team elected to leave him back in Montreal for precautionary reasons as they travelled to Ottawa.

The Wild have recalled Kaapo Kahkonen from Iowa (AHL) under emergency conditions.

There is no word if Devan Dubnyk or Alex Stalock are dealing with injuries but it could be related to the personal reasons that forced Dubnyk to leave the team earlier in the year. The 23-year-old Kahkonen has gone 13-3-1 with a 2.56 GAA and .906 SV% in 17 AHL games this season.

The Canadiens have placed Brendan Gallagher on IR with a concussion.

The Canadiens confirmed that Gallagher suffered a concussion on Tuesday and will be out indefinitely. This is obviously a huge blow for Montreal, who lost part of their dominant top-line. Gallagher is second on the team in goals (15) and points (32) in 40 games this season.

Brendan Gallagher
Gallagher (upper-body) is not expected to play Thursday.

Gallagher suffered an upper-body injury that is likely a concussion in the second period of Tuesday's loss to the Hurricanes. Gallagher was hit in open-ice but was hurt when Ben Chiarot inadvertently kneed him in the head on his way to the ice. Dale Weise was called up from the AHL on Wednesday, suggesting that Gallagher will not be available Thursday vs. Tampa Bay.
