Price will start Thursday vs. the Rangers.

Price allowed four goals on 34 shots in the Canadiens overtime loss to the Canucks on Tuesday. The loss snapped a brief two-game winning streak for Price, who will start for the 17th time in 18 games on Thursday. Tonight will be his third start vs. the Rangers this season--he has gone 1-1-0 while allowing seven goals on 64 shots (.891 SV%) in his first two meetings of the season.

After a five-game losing streak, Price has turned in back-to-back wins while stopping 59 of the 62 shots (.952 SV%) that he’s faced. He stopped 38 of 39 shots in a winning effort in his first start vs. the Canucks, who are coming off of an impressive 9-3 win over the Bruins on Saturday.

The Canadiens have recalled Jake Evans from Laval (AHL).

With the Canadiens shipping Nick Cousins to the Golden Knights on Monday, Evans is back in the NHL after a brief return to the AHL. The 23-year-old has one goal in six games with the Canadiens but has really been strong in the AHL, leading Laval with 38 points (14G / 24A) in 51 games.
