Defenseman Jonas Brodin sustained a broken cheekbone when hit by a dump-in on his second shift of last night's 2-0 win over Nashville.
He is out indefinitely and a timetable will be announced once it's determined. As of now, the Wild says this is relatively good news because there was originally a concern he had a broken jaw. More after practice, but as of now, Matt Dumba has taken Brodin's spot on the No. 2 power-play unit
Brodin was struck in the face by a puck off the stick of Nashville’s Gabriel Bourque at 2:54 of the first period and left Tuesday's game and did not return.
Wild head coach Mike Yeo said Brodin was taken to a hospital for X-rays, but the coach had no update on his condition. This is a tough break for the 20-year-old, who was off to a great start in his sophomore year. He has three goals and three assists (six points) in the Wild's first 10 games while averaging 25:46 TOI (before last night's 1:01).
Call up / Send down
The Edmonton Oilers have recalled Tyler Pitlick from Oklahoma City (AHL).
Pitlick was the 31st overall pick in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. He has 11 goals and 25 assists (36 points) in 113 games with OKC - including one goal and two assists in seven games this season. Both Ryan Smyth and Jordan Eberle are questionable for tomorrow's game, if one of them can't go, Pitlick would slide into the lineup.

Nick Foligno (personal reasons) will not play tonight.
Sean Collins who was just recently called-up will likely be in the lineup.
Foligno (upper body) returns to the Sabres lineup tonight.
Foligno will make his season debut on the Sabres second line with Tyler Ennis and Drew Stafford. The trio played together for much of last season; when Foligno had five goals and 13 assists in 47 games.
Marcus Foligno, who has yet to play because of shoulder injury, is participating fully in practice.

Buffalo Sabres coach Ron Rolston said today that Marcus Foligno will not play in the team's season opener against Detroit.
Foligno sustained an upper-body strain in a preseason game on Sept. 22 against Toronto and has not participated in a full practice since. He's worked with the team's power play units the last few days before the rest of the team has taken the ice but has done so while sporting a red non-contact jersey. He may miss the games over the weekend against Ottawa on Friday and in Pittsburgh on Saturday as well.
#Sabres head coach Ron Rolston with an injury update on Foligno, says it's not looking good now for him to play Wednesday. It appears Foligno may start the season on IR.
Drew Stafford will take Foligno's spot on the Sabres top-line.
The Washington Capitals on Saturday re-signed restricted free-agent center Marcus Johansson to a two-year, $4 million contract.
Johansson, 22, had six goals and 16 assists in 34 games last season. He had two points in seven Stanley Cup Playoff games. His best stretch of the season came in the second half, when he had 20 points in his last 22 games of the regular season. Much of that time was spent on Washington's top line alongside Alex Ovechkin and Nicklas Backstrom.

With TJ Oshie likely returning tonight for game 1 after missing the last 15 games, Tarasenko appears to be a healthy scratch. Tarasenko had just three assists in his last 15 games.
Bogosian did not join the Jets on the trip to Buffalo. He is listed as day to day.
Bogosian took a hit to the head from the Islanders Kyle Okposo on Saturday.
Marcus Johansson tweaked something lower body, came off the ice as a precaution team spokesman said.
Update via Stephen Whyno - #Caps coach Adam Oates said Marcus Johansson is OK, didn't sound concerned about LW leaving practice while a little "sore."

Can confirm that Mats Zuccarello has agreed to terms on contract with Rangers, though he is awaiting his release from the KHL
MZA has spent some time on the Rangers' top line in the past so he could be the spark the Rangers need up front to get moving again. He does not need to go through waivers because he is already under RFA-status with New York as per Bob McKenzie.
Tarasenko will indeed play tonight for the Blues.

Tarasenko was skating on a line with Jaden Schwartz and Vladamir Sobotka today at practice. It appears as if he will return to the lineup tonight after missing the Blues last 10 games with a concussion. Check back for confirmation.
Hitch said McDonald & Tarasenko will be evaluated in the morning to see where they are, leaving the door open for possible return Saturday.
Tarasenko has been out for the last 10 games with a concussion. Concussion's are touchy so it his hard to put a timetable on his return. There is a chance that he could play tomorrow but consider him questionable at best.
Tarasenko (concussion) went through a light skate Saturday in St. Louis but there is obviously no timetable for his return.
Tarasenko has been out since February 20th there is still no timetable for his return. The rookie was off to a strong start with 12 points in 17 games.
