Los Angeles Kings News

Copley is expected to start Friday in Dallas.

Copley allowed two goals on 33 shots in the Capitals win in Ottawa last Saturday. Copley is riding a five-game winning streak, having posted an impressive 1.97 GAA, .936 SV% and one shutout over that stretch. Tonight he faces a Stars team that has won four of their last six (4-1-1) but will be without Jamie Benn.

Pheonix Copley
Armia (knee) will be back in the Canadiens lineup on Thursday.

Armia has missed the last 26 games with a knee injury but will play Thursday for the first time since November 6th. Armia will skate on a line with Jesperi Kotkaniemi and Artturi Lehkonen and has three goals and four assists (seven points) in 15 games this season.

Joel Armia
Kuemper will start Thursday in Los Angeles.

Kuemper gave up three goals on 38 shots in the Coyotes win in San Jose last Sunday. It was Kuemper’s first win since November 15th, snapping a personal six-game losing streak. Kuemper is 1-4-0 with a 3.03 GAA and .904 SV% since returning from injury but draws a solid matchup in Los Angeles. However, Kuemper has an ugly 3.22 GAA and .900 SV% on the road this year.

Darcy Kuemper
Copley will start Saturday in Ottawa.

Copley allowed three goals on 29 shots in the Capitals win over the Sabres on December 15th. Copley is riding a three-game personal winning streak, stopping 80 of the 88 shots (.909 SV%) he faced. Copley has played well enough to record wins behind a high-powered offence, going 7-2-1 in 10 starts and makes a strong spot-start option tonight in Ottawa.

Kuemper will start Thursday vs. the Canadiens.

Kuemper allowed three goals on 32 shots in the Coyotes loss to the Islanders on Tuesday. Kuemper has dropped all three of his games since returning to the Coyotes crease, allowing a combined 10 goals on 91 shots (.890 SV%). Kuemper has had his moments this season but has been sub-par on most nights and is a risky option even against a Canadiens team on the tail-end of a back-to-back.

Kuemper will start Tuesday vs. the Islanders.

Kuemper allowed three goals on 33 shots in the Coyotes loss in Buffalo last Thursday. Kuemper lost both of his starts since retuning from injury while allowing a combined seven goals on 59 shots (.881 SV%). The Islanders present a nice home matchup for Kuemper but a goalie with a career .912 SV% is difficult to trust regardless of matchup.

Copley will start Saturday vs. the Sabres.

Copley stopped 27 of 29 shots in the Capitals win in Arizona on December 6th. Copley has won three of his last four starts while allowing 11 goals on 107 shots (.897 SV%). Tonight he will take on a Sabres team that has won two of their last seven games (2-3-2).

Pheonix Copley
Kuemper will start Thursday in Buffalo.

Kuemper allowed four goals on 26 shots in the Coyotes loss in Boston on Tuesday. Despite Adin Hill playing spectacularly while Kuemper was out, they will stick with Kuemper tonight in Buffalo. Kuemper has gone 2-4-1 with a 3.30 GAA and .895 SV% on the road this season, so look at your other options before rolling with Kuemper.

Kuemper (lower-body) will return to the Coyotes crease on Tuesday.

Kuemper has been out since November 21st but will start tonight with the red-hot Adin Hill serving as his backup. Kuemper has struggled at times this season, particularly on the road. The 28-year-old is 2-3-1 with an ugly 3.17 GAA and .902 SV% in six starts outside of Arizona.
