Edmonton, one of the NHL's worst defensive teams (3.38 GA/GP), have acquired Murphy from Chicago to help them shore up their blueline. In 60 games with Chicago this season, the 32-year-old Murphy averaged 16:34 time-on-ice, recording 13 points (4G / 9A), 62 hits, and 87 blocks.

Janmark suffered an injury early in Edmonton's return to action from the Olympic break and will have to undergo surgery, forcing him to miss the remainder of the season but is expected to be ready for training camp next season. The 33-year-old Janmark scored eight points (1G / 7A) in 43 games this season.

Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch added that Janmark is dealing with a chronic injury that will need some extended rest to heal. The Oilers will be forced to play with just 17 skaters on Thursday in Janmark's absence.

Ingram will get the tail-end of the Oilers' back-to-back as they look to bounce back from a disappointing loss in Anaheim last night. Ingram did appear briefly in relief of Tristan Jarry at the end of last night's game and was ultimately tagged with the loss, allowing one goal on four shots. The 28-year-old netminder has appeared in 14 games for the Oilers this season, posting a 6-5-1 record and an .895 SV%. Edmonton enters action on Thursday at -105 on the money line.

Henrique has been sidelined since the beginning of January due to an undisclosed injury, but has been activated from Long-Term Injured Reserve before Edmonton's game on Wednesday against the Anaheim Ducks. The 36-year-old Henrique had 10 points (2G / 8A) in 43 games before his injury.

McDavid led all players at the Olympics with 13 points (2G / 11A) in six games during Canada's Silver Medal Performance and will return to Edmonton's lineup on Wednesday against the Anaheim Ducks. The 29-year-old McDavid is having another outstanding season, leading the NHL with 96 points (34G / 62A) through 58 games. Even more impressive, McDavid has actually increased his production as the season has progressed, with 60 points (23G / 37A) in his last 31 games.

The Oilers hope the Olympic break gave Jarry a mental reset as the team prepares for the final two months of the regular season. The 30-year-old Jarry has left much to be desired since being acquired in a trade from the Pittsburgh Penguins, posting an ugly 3.64 GAA and .869 SV% in 11 appearances (6-4-1). Heading into the Olympic break, Jarry had allowed four or more goals in four straight starts (1-3-0). The Oilers enter the action on Wednesday as -126 road favourites against an Anaheim Ducks team that was 8-2-0 heading into the Olympic break.

Savoie had only played five NHL games heading into this season, but the 22-year-old forward has eclipsed those totals in 2025-26, playing in all 58 games. He is averaging 13:50 time-on-ice and has 18 points (9G / 9A).

Kapanen is not expected to play against the Ducks or Kings as he recovers from an undisclosed ailment, but head coach Kris Knoblauch said he will most likely play on Saturday in San Jose.

McDavid joined the Oilers in Anaheim on Tuesday and is expected to skate on Wednesday morning and then a decision on his game status will be made.

With the emergence of Connor Ingram in Edmonton's crease, Pickard had not played since January 8th and will now be assigned to Bakersfield (AHL) after clearing waivers. The 33-year-old Pickard struggled between the pipes this season, with a 3.68 GAA and .871 SV% in 16 appearances (5-6-2).
