Pickard will start in New York on Friday.

On the tail end of a back-to-back, fresh off a 3-2 loss to the New Jersey Devils last night, the Oilers will turn to Pickard between the pipes on Friday against the New York Islanders. Pickard had a forgetful outing in his previous contest, allowing four goals on 11 shots (.636 SV%) in an eventual 6-2 loss to the Anaheim Ducks on March 4th. The 32-year-old Pickard has a 2.76 GAA and .896 SV% in 24 appearances this season (15-7-0). The Oilers enter Friday's contest as -130 road favorites against an Islanders team that has only scored two combined goals in their last two games (0-2-0).

The Penguins enter the action on Thursday as +107 home underdogs against a Blues club with points in 11 of their previous 13 games (8-2-3).

The Oilers have acquired Jake Walman from the Sharks for Carl Berglund and a conditional 2026 first-round pick.

Walman made a big impact in 50 games with San Jose this season, averaging 23:11 time-on-ice and scoring 32 points (6G / 26A), earning a coveted first-round pick for the Sharks. The 29-year-old Walman likely won't see the powerplay exposure he had in San Jose now, behind Evan Bouchard on Edmonton's depth chart, but he is still poised to suit up as one of their top-four defensemen.
