Bastian (shoulder) is not expected to play on Monday.

Bastian left Saturday's game vs. The Capitals with a shoulder injury and did not return. Bastian is expected to go for some imaging and could miss some time. Alexander Holtz was recalled from the AHL and is expected to replace Bastian in the lineup on Monday.

Jake Oettinger will start Friday vs. Minnesota.

Oettinger allowed four goals on 31 shots (.871 SV%) and still took the win over Chicago his last time out despite the lacklustre performance. The 23-year-old is a Vezina frontrunner due to his 8-2-2 record, .924 SV% and 2.32 GAA. He takes on the Winnepeg Jets who will be hoping to bounce back after getting crumbled 6-1 vs. Minnesota in their previous contest.

The 23-year-old has been sensational this season, posting a 7-2-2 record with a 2.18 GAA and .929 SV%. He draws a nice matchup from the offensively challenged Chicago Blackhawks who rank 32nd in the NHL in goals per game (2.44) and 31st in shots per game (.25.8)

Casey DeSmith is day-to-day with an upper-body injury.

DeSmith is being evaluated for an upper-body injury after missing the Penguins' practice on Tuesday. It would be a huge loss for Pittsburgh if he is forced to miss time as Tristian Jarry has struggled this season in the starter's spot while DeSmith has posted a .909 SV%, 2.88 GAA and 3-4-1 record in a backup role.

Roope Hintz is a game-time decision Monday after missing the Stars' game Saturday.

Hintz was a late scratch Saturday due to an undisclosed injury but will be a game-time decision Monday as Dallas takes on Colorado. Hintz has been having an excellent season so far, ranking 12th in the NHL in points with eight goals and 14 assists through 17 games played to go along with his +12 plus/minus rating.

Oettinger will start Monday vs. the Avalanche.

Oettinger stopped 27 of 29 shots (.931 SV%) as he picked up his second win since returning due to injury over the New York Islanders. The 23-year-old has been sensational this season, posting a 7-2-1 record with a .927 SV% and 2.21 GAA. He takes on the Colorado Avalanche who have won six of their last seven games and have the leagues top powerplay converting at a 36.5 percent rate.

Oettinger was his usual dominant self in his last start, stopping 37 of 38 goals (.974 SV%) in a victory over Philadelphia. The 23-year-old has been incredible this year leading all goaltenders in the NHL in both GAA (1.80) and SV% (.938 SV%) while posting a 6-2-0 record. He takes on the Tampa Bay Lightning who are 13th in the NHL in goals per game (3.27) and coming off a 6-3 win over Washington Sunday.

The 23-year-old has been incredible this year leading all goaltenders in the NHL in both GAA (1.80) and SV% (.938 SV%) while posting a 6-2-0 record. He takes on the Tampa Bay Lightning who are 13th in the NHL in goals per game (3.27) and coming off a 6-3 win over Washington Sunday.

DeSmith will start Tuesday vs. the Maple Leafs.

DeSmith was fantastic his last time out, stopping 28 of 30 shots as he beat the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday. This is DeSmith's third start in four games for the Penguins as he holds a 2-3-1 record with a 2.67 GAA and a .916 SV%, He takes on the Toronto Maple Leafs again Tuesday who has surprisingly struggled to score this season, ranking 23rd in the NHL in goals per game (2.81).

Oettinger last played on October 29th, when he left a game vs. NYR due to a lower-body injury after stopping eight of 10 shots (.800 SV%) through two periods. Prior to his injury, he was one of the best goalies across the NHL, posting a 5-1-0 record alongside an NHL-leading .952 SV% and 1.40 GAA. He faces off against the San Jose Sharks who are in the middle of a five-game losing streak.

DeSmith will be getting his second start in as many games after stopping 24 of 25 shots (.960 SV%) as he picked up his first win of the season vs. Washinton. The Penguins' backup has been solid as always this season despite his 1-3-1 record, posting a .912 SV% and 2.80 GAA. He faces off against the Toronto Maple Leafs who have struggled to score at their regular pace this season, ranking 23rd in the NHL in goals for per game with 2.86.
