Faksa has not played since October 30th but is nearing a return after being a full participant in the Stars' last two practices. Faksa has zero points, averaging 13:24 time-on-ice through seven games this season and will likely assume his spot on the fourth line when he is able to return.

Matt Duchene (upper body) will be a game-time decision Thursday in Columbus.

Duchene exited the Stars' Saturday night contest against the Vancouver Canucks late in the second period and did not return, ultimately missing the teams' Monday game against the Boston Bruins. Before his injury, Duchene was in the midst of a five-game point streak, tallying five points (2G / 3A) and seems to be finding his stride with the Stars. He will be a game-time decision on Thursday against the Columbus Blue Jackets and should slot back in alongside Tyler Seguin and Mason Marchment if he is available to play.

Oettinger will start against the Bruins on Monday.

Oettinger will be the starter for the Stars on Monday after suffering his first regulation loss of the season on Saturday, a 2-0 loss at the hands of the Vancouver Canucks. Oettinger and the Stars will be challenged on Monday by the Eastern Conference-leading Boston Bruins, who are off to a blistering 9-1-1 start, outscoring opponents 35-21. Oettinger will start Monday's game against the Blue Jackets.

Oettinger served as a backup in the Stars' most recent game and due to their sparse early-season schedule, will only be playing his second game since October 19th. The selective starts and load management for Oettinger seem to be feeding into fine performance for the 24-year-old netminder as he is sporting a terrific 1.44 GAA and .952 SV% through four games (3-0-1). Oettinger appears to be the starter on Monday night as the Stars are sizeable -274 home favourites against a Columbus Blue Jackets team that has lost three straight games (0-1-2) and only scored five goals in that span.
