Monahan has been playing through wrist and hip injuries and with the Flames falling out of the playoff hunt, Monahan will be shut down for the rest of the season. Monahan had another great season, picking up 31 goals and 33 assists (64 points) in 74 games. Sam Bennett and Curtis Lazar are expected to play with Johnny Gaudreau on Saturday.

Wood was hurt in Anaheim on Sunday and will not play against the Sharks. With Wood listed as day-to-day, Jesper Bratt will draw back into the Devils lineup.

The Canucks announced that Gudbranson has been removed from the active roster and will undergoing surgery for a shoulder injury that he originally sustained on November 22nd. Gudbranson should be ready to go for 2018-19 training camp this fall.

Monahan missed Monday’s practice with a lingering issue, but he will be available tongiht vs. the Oilers. Monahan has cooled down recently, picking up just one goal and two assists in his last seven games, but he hit the 30-30 threshold for the second time in four years.


Aston-Reese was scratched from Tuesday’s lineup despite taking part in the morning skate. Aston-Reese will miss an extended period of time, but that’s not a big hit to the Penguins lineup with Tom Kuhnhackl returning last night.




Gaunce hurt his foot while blocking a shot against Florida and will not be available on Thursday. Reid Boucher has been recalled from Utica (AHL) and will replace Gaunce tonight.



Gaunce has been a healthy scratch for the last two games but will replace Nic Dowd in the lineup tonight vs. the Avalanche. Gaunce has registered just two goals and one assist in 30 games this season.


The news of Gudbranson’s injury came shortly before Saturday’s game in Edmonton and it is serious enough to land him on IR for the time being. The good news for Canucks fans is that his roster spot will be taken by Bo Horvat, who was activated from IR in a corresponding move. Gudbranson will miss at least one week as a result of this move.
