Luukkonen will start Saturday vs. the Bruins.

Luukkonen stopped 26 of 27 shots in the Sabres' win in New Jersey last Sunday. It was a great outing for Luukkonen, who had struggled in his two previous starts. Tonight he'll face the Bruins in Buffalo, where he has excelled this season. UPL has gone 4-1-0 with a 1.97 GAA and .921 SV% in five home games. The Sabres are -130 home favourites.

Timmins is battling an undisclosed injury but it appears he will avoid missing his first game of the season. The 27-year-old defenseman is averaging 19:20 time-on-ice, recording 69 blocks, 23 hits, and six assists in 32 games.

The Sabres' three-goalie rotation is, at least temporarily, down to two with Colten Ellis (concussion) sidelined. As such, Lyon will return to the crease on Thursday against the Philadelphia Flyers. Kesselring's first season in Buffalo has been off to a rocky start, sidelined by various injuries, most recently a lower-body injury that has kept him out for over a month. The 25-year-old Kesselring has zero points in nine games this season. He returns to the lineup on Thursday against the Philadelphia Flyers.
