Byram did not play in the Avalanche's second half of their back-to-back series in Finland and was announced Tuesday that he would be out week-to-week with a lower-body injury. It is unfortunately the second straight season in which Colorado's highly touted 21-year-old will miss a significant chunk of the season due injury. He had five points (2G/3A) in his first 10 games of the season.

Dahlin missed the Sabres' previous game due to an upper-body injury as Buffalo fell to Tampa Bay 5-3 in his absence. Samuelsson went down awkwardly in a collision with Curtis Lazar on Saturday and is expected to miss a few weeks. This is probably the best-case scenario because it looked like the injury may have been serious when it first happened. Owen Power and Ilya Lyubushkin have been skating with Rasmus Dahlin since Samuelsson got hurt.
