Peeke split the 2020 campaign between the NHL and AHL, totalling three points (1G / 2A) in 22 games with the Blue Jackets. Peeke is expected to replace Dean Kukan.

Korpisalo allowed six goals on 26 shots in the Blue Jackets loss to the Hurricanes on Sunday. With Elvis Merzlikins and Matiss Kivlenieks both dealing with injuries, Korpisalo will make his fourth straight start on Monday. After a strong start the season, Korpisalo has allowed 14 goals on 77 shots (.818 SV%) in his previous three starts.


Korpisalo allowed five goals on 23 shots in the Blue Jackets loss to the Stars on Tuesday. Elvis Merzlikins appeared to suffer an injury in Tuesday's practice, which is likely why the Blue Jackets will go back to Korpisalo in tonight's rematch. Korpisalo has had a tough time on home-ice so far, going 0-1-2 with a 4.11 GAA and .879 SV% in his first three starts at Nationwide Arena.

Korpisalo allowed one goal on 32 shots in the Blue Jackets' win in Chicago last Friday. Korpisalo has been outstanding through the first month of the season, posting a 2.17 GAA and .936 SV% in his first five appearances. Tonight he'll face a Dallas team that is coming off of back-to-back losses but are 4-1-1 with 3.83 goals per game (2nd in the NHL) through their first six games.


Mittelstadt will suit up for his second game of the season, playing on the first line with Jack Eichel and Victor Olofsson. Mittelstadt had one assist in 10:02 TOI in his first game of the season.


Head coach Bruce Cassidy wouldn't go as far as to say that Pastrnak is in but said that there's a "good chance" and that they will see how he does in Saturday's morning skate. If Pastrnak does play, he is expected to be reunited with Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand, which would bump Charlie Coyle back into a third-line centre role.

The rookie defenseman played in the last two games, averaging 13:41 TOI, but is expected to sit tonight vs. the Ducks. The Coyotes may give him the night off and Jordan Gross would make his season debut.

Jokiharju missed the Sabres' morning skate on Tuesday with what the Sabres are calling a "very minor" injury. He's listed as a game-time decision for tonight's game vs. the Rangers and will be replaced by Matt Irwin if he's unavailable.

Korpisalo allowed three goals on 37 shots in the Blue Jackets' loss to the Lightning last Thursday. Korpisalo has been busy in his first three starts of the season, facing an average of 36.0 shots per game. So far he's gone 1-1-1 with a 2.34 GAA and .935 SV% as he gets set to face a Panthers team that has opened the season 2-0-0 while scoring five goals in each of their first two games.

Pastrnak took off his "no contact" jersey for Monday's practice and could make his season debut later this week. Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy said that he will not play Tuesday or Thursday vs. the Penguins but may play Saturday in Washington. Cassidy said that Pastrnak will immediately return to the top line with Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand.

Korpisalo and Elvis Merzlikins have alternated starts to begin the season but Korpisalo has been the better of the two thus far. Korpisalo has stopped 67 of 71 shots (.944 SV%) in his first two outings but draws a terrible matchup tonight vs. the Lightning.

Korpisalo allowed two goals on 34 shots in the Blue Jackets 3-1 loss in Nashville on opening night. Elvis Merzlikins allowed five goals in his season debut on Saturday, so they'll come back to Korpisalo as the Blue Jackets search for their first win of the season today in Detroit. Korpisalo was 2-0-0 with a 3.55 HAA and .851 SV% in two games vs. the Red Wings last season.


With Jordan Staal out because of COVID-19 protocol, Geekie will draw into the lineup on Saturday. It’s unclear how the Hurricanes’ lines will shake out but Vincent Trocheck figures to move up to the second line with Geekie handling a bottom-6 role.
