Anaheim Ducks News

Dostal will start on Friday vs. Minnesota.

For the fifth straight game, despite a three-game losing skid, the Ducks will turn to Dostal between the pipes. The 24-year-old Dostal has allowed nine combined goals in his last two outings (0-2-0), but has been tremendous for most of the season, boasting an impressive 2.50 GAA and .930 SV% in 10 games (4-4-2), stats that are even more impressive considering the Ducks are averaging only 2.1 goals per game, fewest in the NHL. The Ducks enter action on Friday as +174 home underdogs against the Minnesota Wild.

Husso will start on Saturday vs. New York.

With Alex Lyon suffering a lower-body injury, the Red Wings recalled Husso from the Grand Rapids Griffins (AHL) on an emergency basis. Husso started the season with the Red Wings and couldn't complete a game, allowing four goals on 14 shots (.714 SV%), and was sent down to the AHL immediately after. The 29-year-old netminder has fared well in limited action in the AHL, posting a solid 1.23 GAA and .958 SV%.

Ville Husso
The Red Wings have recalled Ville Husso from Grand Rapids (AHL) under emergency conditions.

Alex Lyon was named as the Red Wings' starter for Friday's game, but the recall of Husso casts some doubt on Lyon's or Cam Talbot's availability. The Red Wings reportedly have a flu bug going around the locker room, so it's possible one of Lyon or Talbot is sick and won't be available against Toronto. Expect an update during their morning skate this morning. Husso has been spectacular since going to the AHL, stopping 69 of the 72 shots (1.23 GAA / .958 SV%) that he's faced in three appearances.

Mrazek will start against the Red Wings on Wednesday.

The Blackhawks are riding a season-best two-game winning streak and will turn to Mrazek between the pipes after giving him the night off in their previous outing. The 32-year-old Mrazek has been serviceable in the Blackhawks' crease this season, posting a 3.02 GAA and .900 SV% in 10 games (4-6-0). The Blackhawks enter the action on Wednesday as slight +104 home underdogs against a Detroit Red Wings club that has only scored 29 goals this season, tied for second fewest in the NHL.

Lacombe will be a healthy scratch on Tuesday vs. Winnipeg.

Urho Vaakanainen will draw into the Ducks' lineup for his second game of the season, replacing Lacombe. The 23-year-old Lacombe, Anaheim's 39th overall pick in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft, is averaging 17:01 time-on-ice and has one point (0G / 1A) through six games this season.

Dostal will start on Tuesday vs. Vancouver.

Dostal was in the crease in Sunday's 4-2 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks, allowing four goals on 29 shots (.862 SV%), but the Ducks will not stray away from Dostal, starting for the fourth consecutive game. The 24-year-old Dostal has been heroic at times for the Ducks, boasting an impressive 2.22 GAA and .937 SV% through nine contests (4-3-2), totals that are even more impressive when considering the Ducks are averaging only 2.18 goals per game, fewest in the NHL. The Ducks enter the action on Tuesday as sizeable +204 home underdogs against the Vancouver Canucks, owners of a 5-2-3 record.

Poehling (personal) did not travel with the team and is out on Tuesday in Carolina.

Nicolas Deslauriers will draw into the Flyers lineup on Tuesday, replacing Poehling, who is away from the team for personal reasons. The 25-year-old Poehling has played all 12 games this season, tallying five points (0G / 5A), while averaging 13:31 time-on-ice.

Ryan Poehling
Dostal will start in Pittsburgh on Thursday.

Dostal is fresh off another fantastic start on Tuesday, allowing just a single goal on 41 shots against in a 3-1 victory on Long Island. The 24-year-old netminder has been one of the most underrated goaltenders in the early parts of the 2024-25 season, compiling a 4-2-1 record to go along with a ridiculous .943 SV% and 2.00 GAA. Despite the hot start, Dostal and the Ducks enter action in Pittsburgh on Thursday at +150 on the money line.

Mrazek will start on Thursday in San Jose.

The Blackhawks will roll with Mrazek for a fifth straight game when they take the ice on Thursday night against the San Jose Sharks. Mrazek was solid in his last outing, saving 24 of 26 shots (.923 SV%) in a 5-2 win over the Colorado Avalanche, but he has a less impressive 3.04 GAA and .896 SV% through eight games this season (3-5-0). That said, he was in the crease in a 4-2 win over the Sharks two weeks ago, saving 20 of 22 shots (.909 SV%). The Blackhawks enter the action on Thursday as -153 road favorites against a Sharks club riding a two-game winning streak.

Dostal will start on Long Island on Tuesday.

The Ducks will turn back to Lukas Dostal for Tuesday's game against the Islanders after James Reimer got the nod for the tail-end of their back-to-back on Sunday. Dostal has quietly put together a terrific start to the season, posting a .936 SV% and a 2.17 GAA across six appearances. He was unfortunate to be tagged with the loss his last time out, allowing just two goals on 32 shots as the Rangers edged the Ducks by a score of 2-1. He will need to be at his best again tonight with the Ducks entering action as +200 road underdogs on Long Island.

Mrazek will start on Monday in Colorado.

For the fourth straight game, despite allowing 12 goals combined in the previous three (0-3-0), the Blackhawks will roll with Mrazek in the crease on Monday against the Colorado Avalanche. Through seven games this season (2-5-0), Mrazek is sporting a pedestrian 3.20 GAA and .893 SV%. The Blackhawks enter the action on Monday as +192 road underdogs against an Avalanche club that is riding a five-game winning streak.
