The Sabres have acquired Jordan Greenway from the Wild for a 2023 2nd Round Pick and a 2024 5th Round Pick.

A second-round pick in the 2016 NHL entry draft, Greenway's development stalled after a 12-goal rookie campaign in the 2018-19 season. He has just two goals and five assists in 45 games this season, though he's been limited to an ATOI of 13:18. He gets a welcomed change of scenery with the Sabres.

Greenway has been in and out of the lineup this season due to injury only playing a total of 17:36 TOI across both games while collecting a -2 plus/minus and zero points. He returns from an upper-body injury looking to build off the 112 career NHL points he has gotten over six NHL seasons.

He did not play Wednesday as a rest day with the back-to-back schedule but is now facing a minor setback in his return to the lineup. Consider him day-to-day for the time being.

Jordan Greenway will make his season debut Thursday

Greenway will make his season debut Thursday lining up alongside Joel Eriksson Ek and Marcus Foligno. The 25-year-old underwent offseason surgery on an upper-body injury and was expected to miss 5-10 games, making his return after three games a nice surprise for the struggling Wild.

Greenway has missed the last six games with an upper-body injury but is set to return to the lineup vs. the Rangers on Tuesday. Greenway, who will slot back into his usual spot on the third line with Joel Eriksson Ek and Marcus Foligno, has 14 points (4G / 10A) in 41 games this season.

The Wild have signed Jordan Greenway to a three-year contract extension worth $9.0 million ($3.0M AAV).

Greenway's offensive numbers have fallen off a little bit this season after posting a career-high 32 points (6G / 26A) in 56 games last season. So far, he has 13 points (4G / 9A) in 33 games while adding 82 hits and 47 shots on goal. Greenway was set to become an RFA at the end of the season.

The Wild have re-signed Jordan Greenway to a two-year extension worth $4.2 million ($2.1M AAV).

Greenway set a new career-high with 28 points (8G / 20A) in 67 games in 2019-20. With Kirill Kaprizov coming over from the KHL, Greenway gets pushed down the depth chart, likely limiting him to a third-line role for most of 2021. The big, physical power-forward ranked third on the Wild with 95 hits last year.
